These are a little on the thick side but have definitely helped me gain some weight after cancer surgery.I mix it with Lactaid Milk to make it easier to drink.The chocolate tastes excellent.

I lost my appetite after a multi-organ transplant over a decade ago. For lack of appetite, I’ve consumed two or three bottles of Ensure every day. A few years ago, I settled on Ensure Complete, but there is always solid material (‘goop’ or ‘slime’) no matter how much I shake it after refrigeration, making it harder to get down and stay down in my stomach.I am writing this review to let you know that if you shake the Ensure Complete bottle vigorously BEFORE you put it in the refrigerator, the goop is mostly or all gone. (it works so well, I even purchased a little handheld shaker designed for small paint cans to do the shaking for me in my weakened condition.)As an aside, I have had extensive blood work done every month since the transplant, and it appears my regimen of Ensure has done a great job satisfying my nutritional needs, even through those days when I can eat nothing at all. Statistically, according to Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, I passed the 50% survival rate (given my age and gender) over four years ago, at least in part by maintaining proper nutrition with this product.

I drink Suplena, Ensure, and NepPro from Abbott Labs. Suplena is $80.00 per case and since I have CKD & RTA2, They figured I check out how much difference in taste there was between the “new(er)” Ensure and the “older” Original Ensure. By far and away, the Original Ensure and this “Comple Nutrition” version are very different in flavor! The old version tastes like a bar of fudge/chips Colgate. This new Chocolate Fudge flavor is absolutely gross - I think it’s because they added the fudge flavor when they tried to increase the amount of protein in them - Suplena - the RX version that you can buy through Abbott Labs online as long as you are not actively on dialysis or others manual filtering processed, they they don’t REQUIRE the prescription. Abbott Labs JUST recently changed their flavor for Suplena as well. I don’t know WHAT it IS, but it’s 💯% something , that is making them taste very odd! The SAME flavor is in the Suplena Homemade Vanilla has the same odd taste. The Original Ensure is NOT enough to give me what I need each day in terms of calories, but YOU may like them. I’ve been drinking this stuff since I was very young so In used to it, it’s NOT so awful you can’t drink it, but there is an odd aftertaste and I can’t tell what it is:!I’m going to continue buying these because the Abbott Labs Suplena Homemade Vanilla is absolutely disgusting, but at least these new Ensures have a couple more benefits you may want to know about: 10 ounce and NOT 8 ounces per bottle, and the new 30g of protein! Plus the vitamins and minerals, so ultrafiltration all stays the same, which is excellent.Either way, when you MUST drink them it’s much different than “choosing” them as an additional source of nutrition. I just chug the bottle and be done with it. Also, these ones don’t seem to keep me staying as full as the original.Abbott Labs if you are reading this: Please go back to the older formulation and discontinue this flavor! 😂

Why is it full of corn syrup?
This would be a great product if it wasn't pointlessly packed with corn syrup. Other products from this brand have artificial sweeteners so this is the best of a bad bunch. Drink fairlife instead if you can get that brand, unless you want to put on a bunch of extra fat from trash corn syrup
