They are made of that kind of shiny nylon like old fashion baseball warm up jackets or some rain coats. They didn't look like it in the photos. Guess I should have read the details closer.2nd opinion: Now that I have worn these shorts a while, my opinion has improved greatly and I highly recommend them. I'm raising my rating from 3 to 5 stars.

A kinda feel like a swimsuit but they are nice and I like the zipper pockets so I stop losing things!

Great lightweight, breathable shorts. Good construction. Only one issue. Somewhat baggie form the waist to the crotch.
