This was such a fun kit for my 11YO. It was enough information, but not too much. The activities actually worked fairly well (compared to other kits we’ve tried), and he got a lot out of it. Great for homeschoolers.

The DNA model is extremely fragile and quite difficult to assemble. The test tube is too large for the tube stand - it falls over. The paper filter is too thick for the soapy tomatoe puree. The pipette is too narrow to allow alcohol to drip into the soapy puree. After improvising to overcome these issues, I tried the visible DNA experiment twice. It didn't work at all. No visible white strings or flakes. I wonder if the manufacturers even tested it themselves. The bacteria growing experiment doesn't seem to work either even though I followed the instructions as written.

not worth the price. experiments don't work well.
it is way to expensive compared to the utility. products were way too cumbersome and dint work at all. it was a birthday gift which my son asked for and he was very excited for it. but the product was too disappointing and not at all worth the price.

The DNA model is extremely fragile and quite difficult to assemble. The test tube is too large for the tube stand - it falls over. The paper filter is too thick for the soapy tomatoe puree. The pipette is too narrow to allow alcohol to drip into the soapy puree. After improvising to overcome these issues, I tried the visible DNA experiment twice. It didn't work at all. No visible white strings or flakes. I wonder if the manufacturers even tested it themselves. The bacteria growing experiment doesn't seem to work either even though I followed the instructions as written.
