5.0 out of 5 stars Deserves More Stars
This was a a really good movie and the first I have ever written a review on. The reason why I rated this movie was for a couple reasons; one being that most of the bad reviews i've read were due to the fact that the movie didn't release on the correct date. Understandable, from a consumers point of view. That being said it does not make an accurate rating for the content of the movie itself and why I find this sad. The other reason is becuase I love stories and movies that have a fantasy flare to them, transmigration is an added plus. The story is about a Ranger squad investigating the disapearence of what I imagine was a scouting or patrol team out in the desert. Their last comms is played by the CPT off of her recorder -vThe missing teams TL voice crackling on comms asking for assistance with a storm fast approaching. The recording crackles more as the TL says again he needs assistance before the comms goes dead...It does not take long before history repeats itself and the Rangers find themselves caught in a similar storm. Once the dust clears they find themselves in a different envorment with mountains on the horizon. It has become evident that they are no longer where they ought to be. They make there way back toward the direction their FOB should be and come across a giant ribcage poking out of the sand. They do not have long to ponder or marvel at the shear wonder of such a thing as reality comes barreling toward them and their rescue mission turns into a mission of survival. The action is well done as is the pacing of the story. The CG was also well produced and the actors embodied their characters to make the movie more immersive. I originaly thought this was a low budget film but if it was then these guys knew how to stretch a dollar cus I dont have any complaints to say about the quality of the film. After watching this movie I knew I wanted to see a sequel, one that was left open to occur based on the ending and after credit scene. My biggest concern is the negative reviews that were solely based on when they got to see or own the movie. If you have seen the trailer and thought even for a second this might be interesting, buy it now... Thats all I have to say.
4.0 out of 5 stars Enemy Mine meets action flick
So first things first let me say I am reviewing this movie as an action flick, as that is why I decided to watch it in the first place. That means while there is a huge amount of cheesyness, that is exactly what I expected going into it. The weapons and some of the ridiculousness of them was a little off-putting, but at the same time it pays homage to the game as well, which I think is acceptable. Now as for the movie itself, it was genuinely good as far as action movies go, plenty of carnage, some fun fight scenes, a truly terrifying start that makes the monsters something to be feared and with a decent little storyline of survival in a harsh world. At the same time what I was surprised by most is the sub-plot and the underlying friendship that was built between the two main characters. For those familiar with the old movie "Enemy Mine," you may be surprised to find that same plot echoed in this story as two stranded individuals must work together for mutual survival. It is heartwarming in some ways and playful in others, just the right mix of friendship and rivalry.I will say its biggest weakness is actually the mid end and then the end, where it gets a little over top with the cheesyness. Again as stated above, I didn't mind all that much, but I found it did snap me out of my "Enemy Mine" vibe I was in at the time.As a regular movie I'd give it a 2 or 3... and it could have been better if it held up the subplot better, maybe a solid 3.5 As an action flick I give it a good 4, that fails to reach a 5 due to the cheesyness being just a touch too much at the end and not having that extra 'umph' to put it over the top.
5.0 out of 5 stars An Awesome Movie for An Awesome Friend :)
I couldn’t believe I found this movie!!! I have a friend named Don who loves Monster Hunter, but when I asked him about this movie he said it “doesn’t exist.” So I decided to give it to him as a gift! I think he’ll really like it, based on what I’ve heard about it. For one thing, the main character (Milla Jocovich) is taken from our world into the Monster Hunter World (get it?). That sounds a lot like this anime that Don likes called Konosuba, where a boy is sent to another world too! Don also says that his favorite part of the Monster Hunter games are the crossovers, and I heard that there’s a crossover with Coca-Cola somewhere in the film! I think he’ll get a kick out of that when he sees it!I think the only part about this movie that he won’t like is that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is not in this film. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is Don’s favorite actor, along with Jack Black. I know that Jack Black will be Bowser in the upcoming Super Mario Bros. movie, but maybe Sony Pictures could get him and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for a Monster Hunter movie sequel? One can only hope! I’ll be sure to let everyone know what Don thinks once he sees this awesome movie!!!!! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)P. S. Don also has a girlfriend named Ester. If they watch it together I’ll let you know what she thinks tooo!!
3.0 out of 5 stars A perfectly average video game movie adaptation
So far as movies based on video game properties go, this one is pretty mid-tier on every level. The story is fairly basic and doesn't really follow the games' mythos, bit the setpieces are fun eye candy. The major issue with this movie is its frantic editing. The extremely rapid cuts oftentimes obscure what's going on. Similarly to the Resident Evil movies, Monster Hunter plays it just a little too safe and is full of missed opportunities. If you're looking for a mindless popcorn flick, this might be for you.

Was A wonderful Movie
I love these kinds of movies and this one was one of the top ones for me!
