Must have for pretzel making
The idea of using a chemical in pretzel making was a little scary. Without this, my pretzels are basically pretzel shaped bagels.
There's not too much to tell, it's a chemical
If you are looking for a small quantity of sodium hydroxide this is a great product. I have been used to receiving the same chemical in large drums but I don't have need of such large quantities anymore. This was a well packaged one pound unit of what appears to be a good quality chemical and at a fair price considering the efforts needed to package and to ship such a small amount. It's always more economical to buy bulk but if bulk is not needed I would recommend this source.
Unlabeled
Note that this material comes in an unlabeled plastic bag. It did have a shipping label in the shipping envelope that I was able to stick on the plastic bag. Sodium hydroxide is too dangerous be in an unlabeled bag.
Use it to make authentic pretzels- just like home
Using real lye versus using baking soda to make pretzels is the real difference in taste
Did not desolve in my goat milk solution-twice had to throw it away
Tried to dissolve it in 2 separate goat milk solutions. It did not do it and I had to throw it away. So much for cheaper lye. Did not have this problem with 2 different brands of lye.
