Presto Precise Digital Pressure Canner 120 volts AC, 1485 watts Liquid Capacity: 12 quarts (11. 4 liters) Stock No. 02144 Finally, an automated electric canner for simple home canning! The Presto Precise canner is the first digital pressure canner that meets USDA home canning guidelines for safely processing low-acid foods such as meat, poultry, fish, and vegetables, with no adjustments needed for high altitudes. It also doubles as an electric boiling water canner for preserving fruits, jams, jellies, and salsa. Simply select the canning method and time and the digital interface guides you through the canning process. LED display icons illuminate each step from start to completion. An innovative sensor automatically detects the exact processing temperature and holds it for the time required to safely preserve foods. To simplify the boiling water method, the temperature sensor detects the boiling point and automatically activates the canning process for the required time to safely process high-acid foods. No need to watch or adjust settings, and the canner holds heat inside keeping your kitchen cooler. Includes an instruction book with research-based recipes that use standard processing times in accordance with USDA guidelines, and a handy quickstart guide. After canning is finished, the removable pot enables easy water removal and cleaning. Canning rack included. Regular mason jar capacity: 10 half-pints, 8 pints, 5 quarts (Half-pints and pints only for boiling water method).

I’ve been wanting to get into canning for a really long time but I was honestly intimidated by it. I really love to cook but due to health reasons I’ve made some big changes in my diet. So buying at the grocery store has become more expensive than usual plus I spend so much time reading labels. Canning has given me much greater control of my food (no chemicals) plus I love that I can reduce sugar. This canner has allowed me to explore both styles of canning with ease! I’ve had it for a month and I’ve been able preserve anything from low sugar jams to spaghetti sauce - it is so fun!! It has worked perfectly every time with no issues. The one thing I will say is it only cans 4 quarts at a time but since it’s just me that’s not a big issue. I looked at cheaper ones here on Bolo but decided to go with this one because it was slightly larger. I’m so glad I did. This has been one of the best investments I’ve made in a long time!!!UPDATE::: I bought this at the end of June and have used it steadily since with no issues. Today when I was washing the inside liner (mid August), the inside coating peeled off! I notice it lifting at the bottom and when I checked it to see if it was just happening a little bit, it came off in sheets!! This is super frustrating because I have peaches ready to can. Unfortunately today is Sunday so I’m stuck until tomorrow on getting any help from Presto but I submitted a message with a picture. I have seen this canner compared to the Nesco, so I literally ran to order that one as it will arrive tomorrow. For $300 I would have expected the presto to hold up longer than 2 months. At this point my original opinion has changed. I’ll update my review as the situation develops. :(Update 2: I emailed Presto on Sunday because they were closed until Monday morning. I called Monday morning and got some rude lady who said if I emailed them then I would have to wait until they responded. She said “we don’t want 2 people working on the same issue “ but she didn’t even want to bother to check to see if they got my email. On Tuesday afternoon I called again. Luckily I got a very nice guy Nick who immediately checked to see if he could find my email but he couldn’t. I emailed him with the picture while we were on the phone and he was clearly flustered at the picture and put me on hold to show Quality Control. They immediately started the process to send me a new liner pan. They also said they may send me a fedex label to send the messed up liner pan back. They told me this is highly unusual and wanted a bunch of model numbers off the unit. I hope to get the replacement liner by the weekend. In the meantime I bought a Nesco. I wanted to see if I made a frivolous choice in buying the presto over the Nesco. I’m in the process of pressure canning split pea soup right now. Here’s my thoughts initially- presto is definitely better. It’s easy to use and warms the jars before canning which I really like because it automates this step. Plus the Presto is much bigger. I prefer wide mouth jars and can get more pints in the presto (7) vs the Nesco (5 and they are really crowded in there). I have decided to keep the Nesco (what can I say - I’m on a canning roll) so that I can do multiple batches at the same time. I have a glass top stove and am afraid to pressure can on it. Plus I live in Fl so while they do heat up the kitchen the electric canners are not nearly as bad as it could be if done on the stovetop. We’ll see how the new Presto liner pan holds up. They said the issue was not seen before and my research confirmed this because I couldn’t find any evidence that it was a problem before. IMHO if you can afford the Presto it’s worth it. The Nesco also acts as slow cooker and a pressure cooker which really doesn’t impress me. But I’ll definitely it check out even though I’m not a big slow cooker person and I gave away my instapot wannabe pressure cooker because I felt all it did was boil the meat.Final edit::: I have used both canners multiple times and have decided that I love the Presto the most. It is practically idiot proof because it beeps when it reaches the next step. That’s good for a newbie canner because I don’t have to guess if it’s time for the regulator or to start the timer like I do with the Nesco. Plus the Presto lid is much easier to clean and reassemble. The new liner pan for the Presto is a different color with a different coating. So maybe the one I got originally was phased out. The company was very responsive about resolving my issue after I got the right person on the phone. All in all I’m still glad that I bought the Presto in spite of the issue. One last final edit: it is now two years later (May 2025) and I still love the Presto the most. I have had no additional problems with the liner pan at all and the canner still works perfectly. I actually sold the Nesco on marketplace because I just didn’t use it anymore.
5.0 out of 5 stars Game Changer
This Presto Electric Canner is foolproofed and user friendly! One has to read the product operating manual, follow the instructions, and your money will be well spent.I have been canning for 5 years with the Presto stove top canner. This new canner complements the stove top canner. Having the 2 canners allow me the freedom to choose the one that fits my available timeline for canning on a particular day.I have had no problems with this canner and I recommend it to those who are intimidated by the stove top canner. Some experienced canners might find that the electric canner is too basic. They might miss the thrill of demonstrating their expert canning skills exhibited when using their stove top canner.. such as: getting the correct temperature for the stove top canner, identifying the sweet spot that keeps the canner at the correct temperature during food processing, using the appropriate weight, waiting and watching for the constant vapor stream to be emitted from the stove top canner, etc..I am happy that I purchased this Presto electric canner and that it works well l. I do not anticipate any problems while using this beautiful canner.
5.0 out of 5 stars Life-changing Can Opener for Disabled Individuals
I absolutely love to Can, despite being disabled. When my husband purchased one for me locally, it completely transformed the game for me. I was so impressed that I ended up getting a second one. The version from Bolo has a slightly different top, but it performs amazingly well. Although they are not third-party tested, I have full confidence in Presto's exceptional reputation for delivering top-notch products. I highly recommend this can opener for its efficiency and reliability.
5.0 out of 5 stars It performs perfectly
It is a good working machine. It has clear instructions but I also recomend reference to the National Center for Home Food Preservation for additional information. It can do 5 wide mouth quart jars when pressure canning but the instructions say only 4 wide mouth jars. The instructions do say 5 narrow mouth quart jars. It performs perfectly and I am happy with the purchase.
5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect electric pressure canner
Was wanting to try pressure canning but the traditional canners with weights, watching them during the process wasn’t something I wanted to do. A few different channels I follow on YouTube use these. (Acre Homestead & Large Family Table) so, thought I’d order this and give it a try. I LOVE IT!!!! It’s easy to use, walks you through the process with notifications on the LED screen, good capacity and everything else you need for your canning projects. I’m very pleased with Presto. My canner did have an issue, however I called their customer service line and they paid for me to send it to them; they had it for around two weeks and fixed the issue and even swapped out two pieces because they upgraded them. It’s working perfectly and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to do pressure canning
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Machine!!!
I am disabled but love to Can. My husband bought me one locally and it is a total game changer. So much so that I bought a second one. The one from Bolo has a different top but works great. They are not third party tested yet but I decided that Presto has such a long-standing good reputation that I would trust them not to put out and inferior product.
4.0 out of 5 stars Makes you feel like a pro, even if you’re a beginner!
"Environmental adaptability! Auto-adjusts to altitude/humidity/pressure changes. Backup power sustains 96-hour operations. Legacy system bridging via smart adapters. Thrives where others fail – from Death Valley to Everest Base Camp!"
5.0 out of 5 stars Great canner
Presto has made a great electric pressure canner. It holds about the same amount of single layer jars a smaller canner would hold. The steam is a bit noisy but tolerable. My dogs always get excited when the steam is coming out (not any different when I release an instant pot). It takes a little longer to process but it’s okay. It’s approved by the USDA and that is a good thing in my opinion. The price is fair. I like how it tells you what to do and when to do it. It makes pressure canning less scary.
I love this machine!!
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Omg, I was a little nervous buying them, then using this. Yes it’s expensive but holy moly. You can’t get any easier than this. I watched a few videos followed instructions and WOW!! It only holds 5 quarts but I’m thinking how easy it will be to can 5 quarts at a time when my beans come in. It’s heavy I was surprised. Not so heavy I couldn’t use it. I absolutely love this machine!! You have to try it to appreciate how simple and easy it is. Not scary in the least!!
Have used this product before..........
This was a second purchase ...really good and takes the hassle out of constant 'baby sitting' traditional pressure canners - HOWEVER this purchase failed to function, was returned and refunded. Perhaps it had a 'bad' journey. So now I'm 'baby sitting, my original presto canner !! :)
GENIAL !!!!
I love this canner
I’ve had this just over a month and have canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, salsa, apple sauce, beef stew and beef meatballs. Chicken is next and I have a list of soups to get done. Super easy to operate! I’m loving it!
Real easy to use!
I was hesitant at first to purchase this unit but I researched and read reviews on various sites which convinced me to give it a go and I'm glad I did. It is very easy to use and takes a lot of the guesswork out of pressure canning. Presto is a good brand that has been around for years and they seem to be the only ones that have successfully mastered an electric pressure canner. It does also do water bath canning which is another plus. So far very happy.
