Average slice of bread is too big, so you have to trim it so you don't make a big mess! Overflow (i.e. cheese) is Difficult to clean up.

This thing is terrible. Do not waste you time. It smoked about 2 mins as it was heating up. Lucky I had it on the electric range under the hood so the smoke can get sucked up. The plates are extra cheap aluminum and the vessel to cook the waffles in is so shallow that you cannot have a good size. This thing takes almost 7 minutes to cook 2 waffles. This function is not feasible. Its cheaply made and the handle gets too hot while cooking. I had to use tongs to life it. I understand warm to hot but I could not open it without assistance from something that I can keep my hands away from the opening. I will be throwing it away. Not even worth the time to return it.

I bought this for my two grandkids who make their grilled cheese and pancakes their self but didn’t have the right pans. When they got this which does it all they were so excited and said it was a blast to use. It’s easy to change from sandwich to waffles or the flat piece. So worth its money to them.
