5.0 out of 5 stars Cool niche product
I got this for a water system for an offroad desert rafe where the water is mounted behind the driver seat. Assembly was easy but was a little confused not realising there is actually two bladders, one that pumps up with air, and one that gets filled with water. Because of that, the outlet nipple placement up high on the bladder doesnt matter. Worth noting, it does not come with a filter. It does say that but I did miss it anyways. I wish the pressure hose was a bit longer or they invluded a longer aize that could be swapped on so I didnt have to make my own longer one for my application. Would work great in any notmal hiking or camelback type adventure.
5.0 out of 5 stars Pure excellence
Bought because I don’t like having to bear hug my pack to get water out. Or sucking like a mad man whilst sucking for air, to get water out. Plus I have dentures. No front clamp power. So this works great. Pump it up, water comes out. Not sure of the flotation capabilities yet but I shall try that next summer. You can install a filter inline, it doesn’t come with the filter but good option. Good value for what you get over regular bladders. Durable so far, bouncing down dirt bike trails in a pack
4.0 out of 5 stars Better than a standard bladder, lower quality than the original Geiger Rig.
I bought this to replace the original Geiger Rig I had purchased 10 years ago (it still worked fine, but was discolored by age and decided to replace it.) Found out Aquamira bought the patent for the geiger rig and the original is no longer available. The materials are definitely of lower quality compared to the original Geiger Rig. It's definitely a HUGE improvement over a normal water bladder with the ability to pressurize the bladder for easy drinking, but if you think it's going to be like the original, it most certainly is not.
1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid at all costs
Having owned a geigerrig for many years and through many travels, I first bought this because I was told they had bought out the company and this is what was supposed to replace the geigerigg. On immediate receipt the materials on this bag are not as high quality as my original geigerrig. Worst of all this bag leaked brand new out the box. At first i thought the filter was defective, so i removed it, but the actual pack itself leaks badly at the hose connection point. I double checked and lubricated the o ring and it still leaked very badly. So bad it almost ruined all my electronics in my daypack. Avoid at all costs and get yourself a hydration bladder from a reputable company.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works as advertised
I am no expert on water bladders. The previous one I bought (Oasis) looked like the quality was very good and durable, but the flow was slow. I never finish drinking the 2 liters of water because it took too much effort. So I bought a Mazama water pressure kit which sounded great in theory but It wasn't . This Aquamira is expensive, but it works exactly as advertised.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great successor to the Geigerrig
Great successor to the Geigerrig pressurized reservoir. I bought this after the pressure pump broke off my old Geigerrig (from a snowboarding tumble), and it works with equal ruggedness! The nipple has a few design improvements which make it easier to open/close (the entire nipple turns 90 degrees instead of just rotating the tip), and while I haven't used all the filter attachments yet, it's a nice extra for backpacking. Overall sturdy construction, and looking forward to years more of use!
3.0 out of 5 stars Could be better, could be worse.
I bought this bladder because you could add a filter and also because it could be pressurized like my old Geigerring bladder. The material isn’t as thick as the old Geigerring, but I like the closure mechanism at the top of the bladder because it can fully come off for filling. My main problem with this bladder is that if you set down your ruck the bladder leaks for no apparent reason, but I can’t seem to find where the leak is coming from. So it’s not as good as a Geigerring bladder (which apparently aren’t sold on Bolo anymore) but is way better than a Source bladder. Also the drinking nozzle is a little awkward to open and close. For simple hiking, it may be fine. Would not recommend use for a GORUCK event.
5.0 out of 5 stars Worked as intended
worked very well for someone who had jaw surgery and could not use suction like you would for regular water bladders.
