Brake fluid costs range broadly depending on the brand so I looked at the specifications to see if there were differences in the components. Two values frequently shown on the label for DOT 4 is Wet Boiling temp and Dry Boiling temp. The two values describe how hot the fluid can get before boiling and becoming useless. This brand offered very decent temp ranges, but what I found interesting is that brands like AC Delco selling for $12 more did not offer these values on the label nor did several other more expensive brands.Moisture degrades brake fluid so I tested this out of the unopened bottle and it showed no moisture at all. The cost of this was $7.69 well below half the cost of most of the other brands offered. After putting on over 1,000 miles since changing the fluid I'm satisfied with the performance all around. We've had weeks of hot weather with daily temps well above 100 degrees Fahrenheit and the brake fluid remained unaffected. I'll be purchasing more of this in the near future. An important note is that once the container seal is opened moisture will have access from the ambient air. It is best to throw out unused remaining product if you do not anticipate using it relatively soon. And then I recommend using a moisture sensor prior to using to ensure the integrity of the product. At this low price it is simply easier to buy a new bottle rather than risk using a small portion of potentially contaminated fluid.
