As long as you make sure that your TV is a compatible series for this device, you should be able to rip and run no programming needed. Functions well and the range is about as good as the original. So if you’re looking for improvement on functioning distance, there won’t be any increase but the responsiveness of the button buttons is better than my original remote. Although this one too, does have some times where it takes multiple clicks to get a response.

I was surprised by this product. It looks so much like the original, and to me it's better than the original because we use Vudu so much and the original didnt have this button. The comparison remote in the photo was my first replacement after my original fell into a cup of water. But as you can tell, this model has the original purple color instead of an alternate. Also, the body of this remote is slightly textured and feels more premium than the smooth plastic on my other replacement. We'll see if the buttons fade like the other brand did, but at least all the buttons on the new one work as they should. All the quick app buttons are programmed with no issue as well. Glad I bought a 2 pack. This will be my go to product if something should ever happen again.

While the Roku replacement remote worked right out of the box (after adding batteries, not included) doesn't mean it is perfect. The remote, like the original, is small and cumbersome to hold. In addition, the surface is smooth and can easily slip from one's hand. This particular remote has a smooth, one piece, flat, rubber four-way that is not conducive to "blind" operation. Without some texture or division on the pad it is, at times, difficult to know the "home position" to determine where you've placed your finger. The result is you'll likely press an undesired function. After some use, one should be able to "blindly" operate a simple remote. Not so with this particular item; you'll spend a fair amount of time looking at the remote to determine correct finger position before operation. Based on the design of the four-way alone, I don't recommend this remote.

Roku TVs do not have a volume limiter option to prevent 4 year old kids from turning the TV volume to 100 and blowing their ear drums. So...My wife bought me these and I took the back battery cover off. Unscrewed the 2 screws holding the back to the control board. Flat head screwdriver along the edge to pop and remove the front from the back and expose the board. Then the plastic volume control rocker (up and down) I slid out, I took a pair of needle nose pliers and gently wiggled the control buttons off the board. I replaced the volume control rocker and assembled the rest of the remote back together. Now... my kid can control every aspect of the TV except for the volume since it literally doesn't have those on the board anymore. Yes, I left the mute button so she can mute and unmute, but gone are the days of hearing the Dora The Explorer theme song 50ft away in the garage through the walls.The 2nd remote in the pack is fully functional still so my wife can set the volume to something reasonable (20?) and puts the "good remote" on the bookshelf way up high.In the voice of Bob Saget: And that kids is how your mother got me to make a volume limiter remote control when Roku didn't have one.

This remote works Great with my TCL Smart TV that has the inner programming of Netflix, Sling Tv, Hulu, Vudu, and more. As soon as I place the battery in the remote, with a "press-of-a button" it instantly worked smoothly. I read the description carefully about these 2 remotes and a hand few reviews and it seems that a few customers misunderstood that these remotes works only to a Roku Device "box" that I currently own, but decided to get a "smart tv" to have everything equipped into one device on which is inside the smart TV. My old remote, I accidentally had in my bed and (not on my "nightstand" like I usually have it) I didn't know that it was under my knee in bed and under pressure when I sat up, it "snapped" and the "volume button" stopped working 😆. So, I found myself here on Bolo to find a replacement. My order came in less than 2 days. Overall, I do recommend these remotes for the "Smart Tv" devices that is listed on the description of the seller. Please read and pay close attention on the description before buying any products......Also, read the reviews and look it up on YouTube. We have so much technology at our fingertips that it inexcusable for anyone to make a mistake on a purchase.
