This was a great gift when we received it some years ago. The sliding arms let you position it over your sink and easily drain your pasta or veggies or whatever. Cleans up easily, stores handily with the sliding arms retracted. Sadly, I didn’t read the directions that came with it and lazily placed it in the dishwasher. Turns out the metal in the sliding arms (not the mesh) isn’t dishwasher safe. Alas, our lovely little gift was ruined. ☹️ Quick, search Bolo! Tah-dah! OXO still makes the same sieve basket. Click, and we’re back in business.

So far so good. I love that it extends across the sink and it’s very sturdy. It’s a bit heavy and cumbersome to clean, but I’m happy with it. It’s very sturdy and well made, and is a generous size. It solves the problem with drain water coming up through other stand up strainers. I’d definitely recommend it.

Not deal-breakingly hard, just a little more resistance than I expected. Seems durable/well-built, but I've only had it like a month, so we'll see.

Ever have a large pot of pasta and need to drain the water? You set a colander down in the sink and it's difficult to reach down there and the steam gets hot and splashes? This nice, deep strainer stretches across most standard kitchen sinks and allows easy access and gives you safe handles to pick it up after to return the pasta, rice, etc. to your cook pot or sauce. Plus we all know you can never have enough colanders and strainers if you cook and bake a lot.
