I attended a 3-day lecture course with a lot of complex information that needed to be processed later. I do not learn by hearing something once but by repetition. The recording device was easy to use and has lot of storage. My lecture was 25 hours long. The quality of the recording was great. I wish I would have found it sooner.

Actually very solid build.Auto-record feature makes it very quick to start recording by sliding the switch on the right to "on".Will pick up everyone in a room and the sound is good and very easy to understand. Can also record audio via an external microphone or via "line-in" (use this one for amplified video microphones). This thing is actually fantastic as an external audio recorder for video purposes.Has a gain meter on screen, can record in 1500kbps WAV in addition to aac / mp3.

Bought this to take notes to myself for the purpose of writing, catching those spontaneous moments where the right words of ideas pop into your head. Needed pocket size, high reliability, ease of use.First thing you notice is weight. This is not a plastic lightweight; it's heavy for it's very compact size, and solid.Second thing (and i really appreciate this) is that the instructions are in normal size type and don't require a microscope to read. Instructions are lengthy and complete, but could be better organized in a walk-you-through kind of form. But, it is all there- just take a while to bring it together in your head.While I need to become adept at use (like most electronics today, some buttons have multiple functions and there are menu stacks) the device recorded accurately and played back clearly.This is an easy device to pocket-carry. Size is probably ideal for it's many functions. Video screen display is modest resolution and size, but sufficient for it's purpose of displaying status and options. Overall the device seems to fit my purpose well. Pending the test of daily use, this gadget passes the initial tests well.

I bought this recorder to replace a Sony unit I'd used for years. The Sony had proprietary software to extract sound files, which no longer works with the Windows operating system. This unit will record directly to *.wav or *.MP3 format. Which is great.The sound quality is excellent. There are even some "modes" that adjust the input sensitivity for various recording situations (e.g., conference call, dictation, etc.). It is also simple to use.The one issue I ran into is when you want to begin recording. It is NOT instant. You may have to wait several seconds after turning on the device for recording to start. Which means that this would be a terrible choice if you want to record children or birds, etc. Because by the time it begins to record, the sound you want may be gone!Not sure why they designed the recorder this way. It appears to be an initialization issue. The recorder software just takes a while to get going. I wrote to the manufacturer to see if there was any way around the issue, but didn't receive any reply. I suppose the problem is known - you can see it's mentioned in other reviews.For my purposes it's OK. You can't beat the price for the quality and everything else. Just be aware that recording doesn't start right away. Turn it on well before you need to record something, such as a conference call, and it will perform very well.

I love this recorder. It is user-friendly. I am a writer who is seemingly always doing research--even when I'm not intending to. This recorder lets me keep my thinking notes or interesting lines of something I've read or connected-linked thoughts that come as epiphanys as I go without having to stop, find a scrap of paper, dig out a writing utensil.

Unfortunately does not work - faulty.
I purchased 32GB option in May 2022, and but did not try to use it until January 2023. Came up with a disc error, which, after a reset, resolved itself. Made 2 20 minute recordings and that was that until today. Tried to use today, but will not function properly. Will not record, and if I delete 2 recordings from January, it says they are deleted, but reappear each time I switch on. Have tried formatting, resetting etc but now shows "Please wait......" and has done so for the last hour. Very disappointed!Update: would just like to add that Bolo has been very helpful in obtaining a refund.
