Food intake required to maintain ideal body condition will vary, depending on age, activity and environment. Watch your cat’s weight and adjust food amounts accordingly. Worth the investment for those with allergies
I have always had mild cat allergies (scratchy throat, watery eyes) but my now-husband came as a package deal with two lovely indoor cats. The first couple months after the cats moved in, especially in the summer, were absolute hell despite keeping them out of the bedroom and cleaning excessively.This food immediately (within a week) reduced the amount of dander that was agitating my allergies. Yes, it's more expensive than the average cat food, but for us it's well worth it. Both cats love it, there is no noticeable smell, the nutrition facts are excellent, and the serving size is less than the cheap food which makes the price more palatable.No issues with longevity. We always order the big bag to minimize the price per ounce and keep the extra in a sealed container, which seems to keep it fresh until the bag is finished. Purina, please keep making this line of food! It's been a lifesaver for us.As an additional tip, installing a couple of floor-mounted air purifiers in the cats' room with easy to clean filters, actually removing the hair from the filter regularly, and weekly detailed vacuuming/wet mopping has helped tremendously with my allergies in conjunction with this food. These things on their own without the food did not make a noticeable difference.
Great cat food for those that struggle with cat allergies!
This ca food has helped my household tremendously. The ingredients appear to help minimize allergies to cats. I have noticed a difference in how my child feels and symptoms. It does seem to take some time before it’s noticeable. The appearance and quality of the food is great. Though the items are a little larger than the normal food we use, it is still a good size. While the cost is more expensive than most, I do find it worth the cost to make sure my family and pets are healthy and active. Different flavors and sizes are available.
Cat loves it and it works!!
First and foremost my cats love this food. It definitely works to eliminate allergies for me. Took 2-3 weeks to fully work. My cat can be anywhere in the house, I no longer have watery eyes, stuffy nose, itchy skin. It’s like I’m no longer allergic to cats. My cats get recommended it!! I highly recommend to anyone with a cat allergy. Just a pointer, my cats love eats canned food twice a day and this dry food is left on his plate all day. He snacks at it till it’s gone at night. A little goes a long way.
Actually works!
We rescued our first 2 cats to our household in one year. When my son got back from college, he was super allergic to them, we thought we might have to rehome them. This food has saved the day!!! The allergy issues are just about gone entirely after just 3-4 weeks. We have had it for months now. The cats love the taste, and we love having our son be able to hang out with the family and not have to retreat back to his room all the time.
Definitely worth a try for those with allergies
If you have cat allergies, this is worth a try. I have two cats, loves of my loves, but holy moly I’m allergic. I’ve tried other things like the typical over cleaning and allergy medicine every day, but this actually have made a bid impact.I ran out about a month ago, and already my allergies have gotten worse. Am purchasing more as soon as I’m done typing this up.As far as cat health: the cats love it, it’s got good healthy ingredients, and the price point matches up with how healthy it is for them and the additional allergy relief for me.
Good food, but pricey.
It is a good food, my cats liked it alright. And I do believe it was helping with my own issues with cat allergies. The price isn't the worst in comparison with other products, but it is still high for the amount you get. Honestly, I decided to pay for better quality food for my cats and just continue dealing with my allergies as I have been for years. But it is a fairly quality food for your cats and if your allergies are bad, and price isn't a big issue for you, this would be a good food.
Every Cat and KItten Loves this line of Purina Pro Plan Liveclear food
I've had plenty of cats and kittens on Purina Pro Plan Liveclear dry food. I've noticed that the adults and kittens love the kitten food more than the adult but it's also higher in calories and fats so adult cats really shouldn't be eating kitten food for an extended length of time unless your adult female is pregnant and/or nursing or if your veterinarian advises you to do so.Purina has many different dry food options including many different Purina Pro Plan sub-types and many of them are not of the same quality as others. Purina Pro Plan LiveClear is their highest grade dry good available with a veterinarian's prescription. It IS also the most expensive but because it's the only dry food I've ever found that ALL of my cats like, I'm willing to pay a little extra so that I don't have to get numerous different types of food for different cats.The LiveClear's claim to lower your cat's allergens is fairly new. I started seeing it within the last few years or so. Before that, they had the same food but it didn't have that claim. I've been using this food for 8 years and haven't ever had a cat that didn't like it. As far as the lower allergen claim goes, I don't notice a difference. It's hard to tell since my boyfriend has a pollen and grass allergy as well as a cat allergy so I don't know if we'd notice if there was a difference in the amount of allergens released in their saliva and dander.This Particular line of Purina's comes in a variety of flavor options. For the most part I get them the Chicken and Rice but I've also tried the Salmon and they seemed to be just as happy. I DID notice a difference in the size of the round pieces of dry food when comparing the chicken and salmon. The Chicken and Rice Adult dry food has round thicker pieces and the salmon flavor is round and almost flat. The size and weight of the bags are the same but the individual pieces are slightly different. I suppose it's possible that Purina is in the process of changing the size of all of the LiveClear food pieces and one of the bags I got was with their new size and the other bag was with their previous size. Both bags were fresh.If your cat has health problems that cause him/her to need dry food that s geared towards Kidney problems, urinary tract, sensitive stomach, etc. Purina Pro Plan also makes dry food for such health issues and they also have prescription food for specific health issues which you can ask your Veterinarian about.
