I have many layers of food storage and dehydrated food is one of them. For that I trust Mountain House. I have this product in pouches and also in cans. Lightweight product that lasts a long time and tastes great. All you need is water to eat it. Obviously I also keep other food supplies in case water is not available and keep water purification in case I need to purify water to use them. A must for any person to be prepared for any situation.

I like the Mountain House brand. I think this is an average deal. Making foods like this for my family is not hard, but this is convenient. The only thing I can say is they need to lower the price or at least add more meat to the meals. The meat is very far and few between. My family always asks where is the meat. I would buy again. Great for fast camping meals that don’t take much to prepare.

I did a blind taste test with my family to rate Dinty Moore beef stew versus Mountain House's freeze-dried offering. To my surprise, most chose MH, although all said that although they taste different, it was very close - within a 1/2 point on a 1-10 scale. These all taste so good that I can say that it is price alone that prevents me from making this a staple in my pantry for nights when I'm too lazy to cook.

We actually love Mountain House, just about everything. I've shared mountains house with about 15 people now and only 2 have said it just alright. Quick and easy to make just add water. Add less water than recommended for more density or add more water for more soupy density. Your preference. You are paying premium for shell stability, keep that in mind.
