Customers always smile large when I bring out this translator to converse with them. I originally bought it to do Zoom Meetings with an Italian speaking peer. It does not function well over Zoom calls. Time lags, and other factors. Better in person as it was designed. It works more accurately if speaking a little slower than normal, in any language. Worth the investment.

I am a teacher and have 6 languages being spoken in my classroom. I first tested the PocketTalk with adults that were multilingual as well as testing it out with the school's Spanish teacher. They were amazed at how accurate it is. They said the accent and intonations are on point. I then used the PocketTalk with my students (Kindergarteners) and it worked amazingly well! Changing the language to be translated is very simple and quick. This item is very user friendly and effective! I used it for three days (6 hours each day) and did not need to charge it. I can easily place it in my pocket when not in use.

This little translator is great. Me and my wife use it at the doctor's office, pharmacy and everywhere else. There is a learning curve to be efficient with it. A small drawback is that it must be connected to either a data plan or WiFi to use. Previous translations can be used offline.
1.0 out of 5 stars NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL, NOT WORTH THE HIGH PRICE
My office bought 2 of these, which were not cheap. Not even 3 months later, they began to have issues. I called and emailed customer service with warranty/repair questions. Got no response at all. It started having problems with specific languages not working. The device wouldn't even acknowledge the chosen language we needed to interpret. We would switch to different dialects until we found one that would work(all Spanish). Eventually, none of the dialects would work. Neither device would update, even when using wireless internet. Absolute waste of almost $500. If you're going to pay that much, I recommend one of the other pricey devices.

My boyfriend is a public service worker & they get a lot of different people from different backgrounds and will sometimes come in without anyone to translate for them. If they don't have someone who speaks the language in-office, they have to search for someone in a different office to do it for them and it can take a while to find someone (if they ever do). They're not allowed to have their cell phones out so this was perfect.The customers are always so ecstatic when they realize they're not going to have to struggle through a conversation to say what they need. And if they aren't able to be helped that day, they're not leaving confused and know exactly what they need to do or bring back.He brings this with him everywhere now just in case we meet someone who speaks Spanish (which happens a lot here in Los Angeles). And he's also able to communicate now with his step-dad's family from El Salvador.The camera is not the best quality, but it definitely works for what it needs to do. Love this product!

Talk about life savers! This translator was so useful to get through Japanese customs and getting a ride to my hotel that I don't think I would have "breezed" through the process without it. The camera auto focus feature needs improving as I am juggling the unit around so it would lock focus. The only other comment I now get from my new Japanese friends is that it's "so formal" when it comes to words and syntax it uses for everyday interaction and transactions, which they say makes me "sound like my grandfather." Well, I'm old enough to be one anyway.

This product is really bad unless you are connected to wifi, and even then, it is not reliable. I would not purchase it again, or recommend it to anyone for use beyond as a mere curiosity. It is certainly not something that can be used in work.The functionality is terrible. Often the device just delays and does not pick up what I am saying and just stalls and does not translate. The button is often not responsive so you just have to keep pressing it and wait and wait, and then people just give up on it and use their google translate on the phone to talk to me. I feel really mislead by the reviews and the product information.
