Thanks to the ongoing science in the longevity field by the likes of David Sinclair and others there's been a lot of discussion around NAD. Here's the kind of thing you will find online: NAD is a type of coenzyme found in humans, animals, yeast and basically all living things. Coenzymes are needed in the body to allow other enzymes to work. It is a derivative of niacin. There are many claims associated with supplements in this category, which includes NMN and NR, among which are: improved energy, mental clarity and alertness, due to its positive effects of cellular processes that support cognitive function, improved memory and help treating Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, enhanced athletic performance and muscle function, better protection against certain cardiovascular problems, reduced symptoms associated with chronic fatigue syndrome, protection against vision loss and signs of skin aging, regulation of circadian rhythms and appetite.The thing about NAD is that it is supposed to be a large molecule that needs to be broken down. Whereas the precursor molecules NMN and NR might be more bioactive and readily used by the body. Who really knows? We are all our own independent research laboratory and need to investigate and experiment for ourselves. So in my personal experience I haven't noticed much per se, when taking this by itself. I did notice that when I took one NMN capsule along with one of these I did have quite a noticeable sensation of an uptick in energy as compared to taking either supplement alone. Hard to know if this item is effective on its own, but I can at least say that I haven't had any kind of adverse reaction to this that I'm aware of. The manufacturer claims "Each product goes through hundreds of checks, in-process and post-production. We guarantee purity, potency, safety and innovation in everything we do." I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now and continue my independent lab work with this. :)

The potential benefits of NAD are far and wide. From mental health to physical fitness to cancer prevention and anti-aging properties. It works by protecting your DNA from damage, mutations and errors when cells multiply. These errors increase as you age and can lead to disease and decreased performance and function. By protecting this process, you can theoretically live better, longer. This type of benefit is hard to determine even over a period of time due to other factors that influence your life, like exercise, sleep, and nutrition. That said, the quality of this product seems high with published certified lab test results for dosage verification and purity results for contaminants like yeast and bacteria. The dosage is in the range for effective treatment, a bit lower than whats used in clinical trials. I will continue to use this supplement as the potential benefits outweigh the cost, although they are benefits that you may only see over the course of your lifetime.

Boosting NAD+ levels in your aging body is said to restore more youthful operation and hence may increase longevity. I don't know it that is so. My rating is only about the product. The maker of this NAD shows evidence of high quality; they have the seal of GMP and they have a purity guarantee. They are clearly focused on the quality of their product. I would not recommend taking supplements without such assurances of quality; and there are many out there.With this supplement, you can get NAD directly into your stomach. I don't know what happens to it after that. I am biased towards taking NAD precursors, such as NMN. The precursors, then make NAD which can be spread throughout your body. Taking NAD directly sounds good, but it depends on how your digestive process treats it. I can't say how effective taking NAD is compared to taking the procurers. I did not notice any difference, but it should be kept in mind that the effects of such supplements are slow and may not be possible to represent as "before" and "after" stories.

NAD is another one of those supplements that are all the rage these days. From enhanced athletic performance to increased longevity, it holds great promise to boost quality of life.I am impressed by what I've seen from Piping Rock and this NAD is no exception. I like that they're creating quality products with minimal gimmicky. But at almost thirty bucks for a months supply, be prepared for the sticker shock at the pump.That seems to be about the going rate for NAD however. Like everything else, the good stuff doesn't come cheap. Personally, I grow a little weary from the constant need to reorder. NAD requires a certain level of commitment.As a side note, I struggle to find the logic in certain design decisions. If you're going out of your way to source cellulose and magnesium stearate from vegetables, why house them in a gelatin capsule? Be one or the other. My vegetarian and vegan friends won't go near a gelatin capsule. It's like serving up a Beyond Burger with real dairy cheese.Minor annoyances aside, Piping Rock is trying hard. They just need to nail down a few of the details.
