Good purchase
This was a good buy. I used this generator for my camper during hunting season and it worked great. It powered up my 110 volt electric water heater fairly quickly and gave enough hot water for a nice shower and dishes . After the water heater draw the generator turned down in idol and ran falsely. Enough power for my small tv and dvd player and my C-Pap machine. I’d say I was using 1 gal of gas per day but it wasn’t bad .The generator starts easy , most times one pull of the cord even after I ran it out of gas a few times it still fired right up .Just as good as the more expensive Honda .Two larger handles on top helps with the lifting even if it’s not that heavy . The handles also held up a piece of wood I covered the generator with to keep the snow off .This past winter we lost power and this generator ran enough power to power my furnace , fridge, and tv so I was living normally without grid power. It wasn’t enough for the well but I never planned on that purpose.Can’t go wrong with this generator .

Yamaha rules!
I already have one and by itself it will power, my furnace, hot water tank, and a few lights at night during an outage. I ordered the second one as either a backup or the parallel to the other generator if I happen to need more power. The most perfect little machine. Get one before they’re all gone.
Great Valve for the money and a good name brand !
The reason I give it four stars is because I haven't really used it yet, other than get it filled with oil and some gas and start it and plugged in couple fans, heater, a lamp ,which it run all of them just fine, I see No reason it will not run the Fridge and the Wife's O-2 machine just fine also. And be a five star!It was easy to get set up and started on the 3rd pull. run like a top. its not light, pretty heavy. but one man can move it around if need be. The handle on it is good and way its made one man on each side and pick it right up and go ,no problem. I think for the cost, it was a good deal, and Yamaha has been around long time, and I look for this generator to be also! Also its not to loud at all, which is good thing too!

Right out of the box this generator was easy to set up and was in perfect condition. I read the owners manual to familiarize myself with its features, added oil and fuel and it started easily. I used it on a trip in the RV where my wife needed power for a CPAP and found that the generator could run for over twelve hours even with making coffee in the morning while watching the TV news.The sound level is very tolerable and the weight of the unit allows me to carry it a short distance and stow it in the RV.I'm very satisfied with this purchase.
Dead on arrival and zero support or options to return
Received the ef2200is generator. Added the prescribed amount of 10w-30 oil. Started the generator and the engine races. It will never idle down. No power is generated. I ran it for 10 minutes thinking it would warm up. There was no change in the behavior of the engine and power was never generated. Bolo refused a return and said I need to take up the issue with Yamaha. Spent two hours calling Yamaha during their specified business hours. No one from the Outdoor Power Equipment division will answer their phones and the mailboxes are full. I talked to several humans at Yamaha and they said I need to talk to the Outdoor Power Equipment division. They transfer me but no one ever answers and the mailboxes are full. Looks like I just lost $800.Update: I finally talked to someone at Yamaha who could “help”. He told me that Yamaha has exited the Outdoor Power Equipment business and that the best he could do was to tell me where I might be able to get it fixed. So beware, there is zero support and the three year warranty means absolutely nothing. So disappointed in Yamaha. Used to be quality and standing behind the product. Now it is nothing but crap evidently.

I bought this generator to replace a Honda EU2000i that would not start my Coleman Mach 8 Polar Cub (9200 BTU) AC in my RV. This one takes everything I have thrown at it (within reason) in stride. I starts and runs my AC with no problems and will maintain 120 volts (verified on my plug in realtime voltmeter). The Honda would drop to 80 or so when trying to start the AC in Eco mode, then go into overload. I have yet to experience an overload with the Yamaha. Yes, it is slightly heavier by about 10 pounds and slightly noisier, but still quiet enough to run all night at a campgrounds if needed. I also like that this unit has a fuel pump, so it can be attached to an auxiliary fuel tank and the 30 amp RV receptical and output meter (LED lights) are icing on the cake. With a fuel drain peacock and using non ethanol fuel, I don’t anticipate any fuel related issues. Finally, with a cast iron cylinder liner this should run for many years to come. I love Honda products, but am now a Yamaha convert.
Not enough for a 15,000 BTU A/C RV unit.
I gave it 5 stars in the hopes that it last as long as the Yamaha EF1000 that I purchased in 1993 for a trip to Alaska. It ran off and on for 23 years and I believe if I could find a coil pack it would run again.I purchased this to replace 2 Predator 3500 that have had problems with running properly. Tune ups, oil changes and the replacement of the electronic control and carburetor and still having problems to get to running.So it appears I will need to purchase a second Yamaha EF2200is and a parallel cable to run my 15,000 BTU unit. But from the time I ordered 4/7/25 to 4/10/25 the price has increased by $200.00. Thanks to the Tariffs.
