I live in upper midwest, went on vacation for 12 days and returned to see the crabgrass took off in some of my more bare spots of the lawn. My neighbor and coworker recommended this. It's pricey comparative to options at big box stores, but lets be honest, do any of those actually work on crabgrass?? I figured its still cheaper to buy this than pay a company to spray my yard! I applied as recommended with surfactant and dye about a month ago. You could tell in the first week they were no longer growing and within 2 weeks they began to turn brown (we haven't received much rain as of late). 3 weeks later I hit it all again as I don't want to get as much killed before winter as I can. This stuff really works, but can change some of your grass white for awhile depending on the grass you have in your yard. It will go away eventually though.

I bought this because it claims to kill creeping Charlie. Most consumer herbicide claim they eradicate creeping Charlie, but don't. This does. It doesn't kill all of it, but almost all of it. I use it according to the directions. I added the dye, but I found that to be of no benefit. I could not see the blue dye on the lawn or weeds. So, on subsequent applications I no longer use the dye. I do use the surfactant.

Check first to see if you have the weeds this will kill. Some I have still waiting. Was super easy to mix and apply with a sprayer I already had. Packing was fantastic giving clear measurement instructions. No guesswork. It goes a long way so you will have this for time again.
3.0 out of 5 stars Berumda Grass Control (Southern Delaware)
Overall Tenacity will somewhat control berumda grass however there are some drawbacks to consider. I have used this in an attempt to control berumda grass for two years and have had some sucess controling bermuda grass and it does turn the blades white indicating that the the plant is damaged. However the plant stays white for about 10-12 weeks making the treated areas extremely obvious for pretty much the entire growing season making the lawn look awful. I can work about four follow-up applications and frankly it does not seem to cripple the bermuda grass enough and in fact it is spreading.I have a tall fescue lawn in a "transition area" (zone 7b) and berumda grass is a gigantic problem. After two years of use I have decided to use a non-selective grass killer (Glyphosate) with repeated applications to kill all the grass and then re-seed. I would much rather see a few weeks of dead grass than brillant white for an entire season. I do understand that even glyphosate will not entirely kill bermuda grass but my experience is that it will put it in full retreat..Tenacity does control many other weeds and it may be worth using for those, however I cannot recommend for bermuda grass control.

Should you spray Tenacity across your entire lawn while fertilizing? Probably not.The 10' by 20' patch of Poa in the middle of my lawn hated this stuff, turned a sickly white, now is a nice brown, I'm hoping when dethatching in the spring I will remove the brown, and reseed the area, and with the help of this product the Poa will be vanquished.This works really well, it will take a more concentrated effort with this product to actually destroy a weed, and the increased application it will turn the grass white and kill it as well. If you do as I did with - slightly under 2 tablespoons for four gallons across your yard, this will highlight the weeds in white, and you can do as I did and give those areas special attention the next time you fertilize.I was a skeptic, now I'm a believer, might not be the best killer, but it highlights your targets for elimination how I used it, I might post pictures in the spring when I am more proud of the lawn.
