(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } I wanted to write this as detailed as possible to help other women who may be struggling like me. It’s been rough!! But I finally found my Goldilocks cup! I believe this would be good for any age starting out to older. As our bodies change as women sometimes it’s hard and frustrating trying to find something that will just work. I hope this helps someone as I could’ve used this review months ago!!I’ve been a menstrual cup user for years an years now. I found them because tampons hurt me from being allergic even organic gave me cramps as severe as the natural labor I’ve done several times now. I seen a random YouTube video, while looking at how to use cloth diapers as my son is allergic to everything, of a 13 year old girl about menstrual cups and reusable pads way back before any of it was fashionable. I thought if she can do it I should be able to especially after kids! So I gave it ago basically expecting it getting stuck and armature gyno with my hubby before an ER visit. Luckily that did t happen lol!Back then I could use a firmer cup loved the easy open. But as I’ve had kids and aging I have pressure and sensitivity issues. So for a comparison I used my other cup which is a Ruby Cup in a small. An included ample pictures. With my ruby what used to be a great pairing turned south. I began after day two of my cycle feeling sore especially with activity like walking. I never could use stems as one they caused irritation and my cervix is low but drops quite low the first few days. So the grips on my cup were just irritating me terribly. In my family women have menopause early even though I’m young I’m starting peri menopause which causes a lot of issues with hormone chances to your lady bits so your way more sensitive. Then I was getting the issues of heavy bleeding comparable to after my childbirth’s. I never had a heavy period in my life. So at night I was overflowing my cup like a murder scene. My cervix was dropping into the cup so less room and my cervix decided to move to a new home on the far right side against the wall so the rim in the ruby isn’t big enough to seal.I have a huge wet bag of cups ranging in all shapes sizes and stiffness. None of them were helping. Then I saw this a new design the cup looked well made. So I can’t wear a large as I’m low cervixes and the stiffness of the bottom plus grip rings just hurt me and it’s basically hanging out at the entrance I’m that low at the start of my cycle. But i needed more for my new flow lovely Mother Nature has bestowed upon me. So wow they come in Small, Medium and Large! I got a medium it came timely in cardboard packaging the bag is a rough non bleached cotton which I appreciate. The cup is much smoother than the ruby. It has smaller air holes two on each side I would run a needle through just to make sure they are open. I do this with any cup. As pictured a ruby small the rims wider and of course bell shaped. The squish test shows the luneale rim is more firm however lower in the body the ruby is much firmer. Its a very graduated firmness in the luneale lovely soft at the bottom getting firmer as you go up. Which makes it open easy but is a dream for sensitive women. Which turned out great for my soreness and pain at the first few inches of my entrance. The moon pad is awesome it has a textured grip and at the top is a good solid chunk to hang on too. I’ve had no issues with removal. As a matter of fact I could always feel other cups in some way or another from aching or something hurting or pressure. I forgot I was in my period with this. It held so much sealed perfectly every time. An the period I first tried it on was a another monster one where your late then your body makes you suffer. To the point I’m on iron tablets. So if things were gonna go bad it would’ve. The one caveat I will say is getting it to open freely as the bottoms soft an the silicone catches it won’t glide against itself smoothly. But it’s a very easy fix just put a little lube inside run it around a small amount. Do your preferred fold and apply lube as well to the outside of the cup. I just folded it and applied lube outside previously. Then once inserted I’d it doesn’t pop open instantly which it usually does for me just pinch the bottom if you’ve any trouble to encourage it to open it doesn’t matter which way the moon pads are facing front to back side to side it’s easy to remove.I’m actually buying myself a second in a small for the end days of my cycle and have totally stopped using all my other cups . Some of which are new only used once.I’ve been given my life back because I couldn’t walk, hike, garden, ride bikes. When my period began for over a year. The pain was that bad. Yes I went to my gyno apparently it’s normal to have this sensitivity issues as we age. An I was afraid to go anywhere as all my other cups would leak and overflow because they couldn’t seal and it was so much when it happened even with a cloth pad on still went through jeans. So I’m very grateful I’ve found this and am no longer hindered by my menstrual cycle!
5.0 out of 5 stars Life saver
I used period cups prior to giving birth. However I tore internally basically every except for my perineum, this has cause incredible sensitivity. The previous cup I used (soft disk and ziggy round cup) where causing lots of pain to empty and also I basically always felt internal pressure and leaking. Maybe I tried them too soon after giving birth but I waited about a year before I even tried tampons or cups again. Anyways I have tried the pixie cup which felt more comfortable but still had problems with it moving around with some leaking and the stem caused irritation as well as major cramping from the suction even if I tried to squeeze the cup prior to removal. My period are not heavy thank God, but that means a tampon can be to dry to remove on lighter days as I go pee about 100 times still and guess what i have diarrhea basically my whole period 😅. I do jiu jitsu so I'm looking for something that can hold up to the heaviest activity, I also have a cruise coming up which I'll be on my period for so I decided to give this a try. I've only tied for the end of one cycle so on the lighter days but it did not move or leak for what I would call the most strenuous activity I've ever done. On top of that, it has been the easiest cup to insert (I use the c fold and I'm able to twist it up using the moon pad). I had major difficulty with other cups getting under my cervix. This instantly went into place and was not feelable in any way. Literally the easiest cup I've ever removed. No pain at all. I'll try it for my entire period and see how it holds up I may need a larger cup but I got the medium. I feel like I could swim or do anything as the cup never rotated at all (you can tell by the placement of the pads on the cup). I feel like I've been given a new Chace at life lol
5.0 out of 5 stars Very Comfortable
For a bit of background, I am a very experienced cup user and have been using cups since I was about 14. I am now 20 and have tried at least 5 cups including this one.One concern for a lot of people purchasing a cup is that they want to make sure that they can get it out but I found that this cup has been easy to pinch at the base because of the V shape that the cup has at the bottom. For me I have always had irritation when using cups with stems and have had to look for cups that use very soft silicone or cut the stem off entirely. With this cup I have not experienced any irritation and it is very smooth and soft. This cup may be intimidating for new cup users but if you are looking for a stemless cup and don’t need one with firm silicone this works wonderfully. I also think this would work quite well for someone with a medium to low cervix because of there being no stem to stick out.Overall, this cup has been great for me so far and has not caused any discomfort. It uses soft silicone but the rim of the cup is slightly firmer which will prevent leaks. Love. Love. Love.
4.0 out of 5 stars Comfy but doesn't seal
Super comfy. Medium seems to hold about as much as a June cup small. I would have repurchased a large as well but…… it doesn't seem to seal all the way. Still worth trying just because of how comfy it is but just bear the sealing issue in mind.
5.0 out of 5 stars Life changing, superior to all other menstrual cups
This cup is unlike any other Ive used, and Ive tried quite a few. it is much softer and seems to move with my body with ease. No stem is soooo much more comfortable, and easy to remove without that uncomfortable suction. The biggest thing I noticed is it doesn't leak AT ALL. Usually I have to wear a liner with other cups, but not this one! I'll never use a different brand
