This box is good quality and opens per instructions, so a preteen could receive this box and it is a fun pre gift, when a gift card or cash is inside to add to the surprise.

BROKEN - but easily fixed. The box did fall apart as soon as we opened it but we quickly realized a few pieces needed to be re-glued and once we did that it worked well. If the first piece falls off, look for the broke piece under the pegs. You may need to bang on the bottom of the box to get it to come out. Figuring out how to fix the box proved to be a longer puzzle than using the box but overall it’s worth a few minutes of fun. It’s not overly difficult but when all the pieces work as they should it’s a good quality puzzle box.

I have 5 great-nephews who love cash for Christmas, so i ordered 5 puzzle boxes. They all worked perfectly and smoothly. Complicated enough that I couldn't figure them out without directions, but directions were easy to figure out. You can put money through a handy slot if you don't want to bother opening them to stuff with money.

Bought this for one of my grandsons - he's 15, already in college and a genious! If he wants the money gift (what kid wouldn't!) he'll have to work for it - but for him it may well be easy! Not sure I can get into it to deposit the money - even with the directions!

I used this little chest to hide money as a gift for a 15 year old twins.They LOVED the challenge of trying to figure out how to open it.I had to give two small hints and they eventually opened it.Very well made! It was an outstanding and fun gift!

It was a hit. We put money in it for my nephews gift. They are challenging and clever enough to keep the kids entertained for at least a while. Recommended
Too small , not worth the money
I like because can help to save money .However , it is too small because the notes can't really push in.Will not recommend this to any one .Can leave it as a small toy .
