5.0 out of 5 stars Worked perfectly for 7 day Canada trip
Worked beautifully for a Canadian trip from Winnepeg to Jasper. Of course in the very rural and open stretches of Manitoba and Saskatchewan there was no phone signal, but we get the same issue in the USA. It assigned me a phone number 24 hours after registering and worked about 30 minutes after installing SIm. Of course I had to look at my roaming settings. Downside: I didn't figure out a way to check my data usage, but on the plus side, the 5 GB was plenty for my 7 day trip. I could also set my phone as a hotspot to run my other devices.
1.0 out of 5 stars A total waste of money
I was on a bike trip from Saint Paul to New York City, via Wisconsin, Michigan, Canada and upstate New York. I wanted to have cell-phone service (and internet service) to search routes through Canada and book hotel rooms or campsites. So I ignored the negative reviews of this card and purchased one. 24 hours before entering Canada, I installed and activated the card. I took them more than a full day to activate it. At first the phone worked but not texting or the internet. Occasionally internet/data would work but, by in large, the phone was useless for anything but making occasional calls, providing I could get any reception. I traveled from Wallaceburg to Port Erie (along the top of Lake Erie) in some fairly built up areas and, still the reception was poor to non-existent, especially when it came to data. Fortunately, the person I was traveling with had a phone that worked in Canada or I'd have been screwed. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS SIM CARD! It's poor at best.
4.0 out of 5 stars Traveling from Atlanta to Toronto
I made the request (from Atlanta) on a Wednesday to have the card activated for Friday. The card was activated on Friday around 2pm eastern time without any issues.Upon landing in Toronto a few hours later, I was immediately able to access data. Speed was around 15 Mbps. Waze worked perfectly to Richmond Hill. There were no problems using Uber/Lyft either. I was also able to turn on my hotspot which others were able to connect to without issues. The signal got weaker as I traveled further north up the 400 and eventually died just North Barrie and didn't come back at any point from there to North Bay. Didn't work in North Bay at all.The card continued to work as it did before as I traveled back to Toronto a week later.
5.0 out of 5 stars These worked in Vancouver BC
I bought four of these for me and my family members for a trip in Vancouver. They all worked well for the trip. They run on Telus Towers that have solid coverage throughout Vancouver. I had problems with one dual sim phone but customer service was able to troubleshoot immediately. These also work great in the US and run off of Tmobile towers which has solid coverage across the country.
5.0 out of 5 stars Worked for a trip to Canada
We didn’t want to deal with our mobile providers’ excessive charges for our trip to Canada so we bought two of these at $23.98 each (plus tax). Activation was easy through the website. We did that the day before we traveled. They do warn you it can take up to 24 hours for it to get activated, but ours were good to go in a couple of hours. If you did it later in the evening it might be the next day before it works. The SIM cards themselves worked fine. I used mine for Maps and found by day 5 that it wouldn’t connect to the internet using data. No indication I had exceeded my limit. Our other card was fine. We got temporary 302 area code numbers that we shared to our important contacts. We would use these again.
2.0 out of 5 stars Data did not work in Canada
Travelled through Canada from lower 48 up into Alaska for a trip. Crossed in North Dakota/Saskatchewan, then passed all the way through Alberta, BC, and then YT. Got this sim so I could plug it in before leaving and just use it for the whole trip. I activated it a few days before I left (since I really didn't need the full 30 days). Service worked fine through the whole US, but entering Saskatchewan I lost all data capability. It started roaming fine as far as call and text, but no data or SMS pictures. This was a major annoyance obviously. After contacting tmobile several times over the course of 4 hours, they were unable to resolve it (though they definitely seemed they were doing their best and were as helpful as possible given the circumstances). Worst of all, entering Alaska, the phone did not seem to gain data capability back either, so I near immediately swapped back to my normal sim.Go with something on Rogers or Bell's network, especially if you're out in western Canada.
1.0 out of 5 stars SIM Card Compatibility is a Joke.
It did not work. All of the Googling, the multiple times I entered the phone’s IMEI number to try and verify that this item would work was for nothing. All of the research indicated that the SIM would work yet when I put it in the phone I received an in email saying on closer inspection the item might not work and if it does work the service would be spotty.Something somewhere should have indicated that before I purchased the product.
3.0 out of 5 stars READ BEFORE BUYING !!!
This card DOES work. Activating it was difficult, as the number and website don’t exist. However, after emailing customer support, they responded quickly asking for some info and then stating that it would be activated by the next day. Make sure you do this at least 24 hours in advance of your trip, it may take that long to activate. For us, it took about an hour before we had service. The service was just okay. It went out frequently in Toronto, but would eventually come back. For the price it was worth popping the SIM into an old i-phone. It got me through my trip. I used google maps frequently to navigate, texted and made a few calls as well.
Funciona muy bien en México y USA
La activé en México, viaje a San Diego USA y Honolulu Hawaii, funcionó bien, en algunas perdió cobertura pero si cumplió con lo esperado.
Didn't work in Canada
I bought this for my trip to US and Canada and quite frustratingly the data did not work. Was very frustrating as the majority of my trip was to canada.
Scam / third party, criminal enterprise
DO NOT buy from this seller! This s a third party scam selling blank SIM cards. Bolo needs to remove seller immediately for criminal activity, and reimburse full charge to buyers.
Worked well
I set it up 2 days before leaving Canada. It worked with no dropped calls or lost internet through the U.S. in California, Nevada, Arizona. Took a cruise to Mexico and it worked with no problems in Mexico. Saved a lot of money on my Roger's bill!
Experiencia frustrante
