I will update in the near future if things change. The adjustment I made was to use a paper filter, the basket mesh is too fine for the water to run through the grounds, so it will spill over into the pot & the outer side of the basket. Another adjustment is to make sure to put a small dimple in the pile of grounds and to make sure the lid clicks shut to avoid over spill.

I was able to use this small coffee maker this morning, all I can say it's small but mighty.Small enough to set on your counter, one good thing about it is no more purchasing of coffee filters, it has it's own internal filter.I made two cups this morning, very satisfied.

This is a late review of the coffee maker because I ordered it in August 2024 and it is now June 2025 and the coffee maker just stopped working. I am the only one who uses it so it's not overused as I make a cup a day and not on the weekends. I used it yesterday with no problems and went to use it today and it just wouldn't work. I am surprised because there have been no issues with this item. Now I have to order another coffee maker because I love making my own cup and it tastes better than getting it out plus I save money making it myself.

Perfect size carafe for a two carafe household. My husband likes weak coffee and I like medium to strong. My Kerig broke and I am done with them. This carafe has its own filter and the coffee taste better than my Kerig. I had no splatters like other commenters had but I only made two cups. The price was inexpensive too.

Perfect size as it is just me in my home. Cleans up well and I like that the filter can be reused. Coffee tastes good too. The reason for only 3 stars is I have yet to be able to pour a cup of coffee without spilling some coffee on the counter and the first cup could be a little hotter more it is only luke warm. I am guessing that maybe I need to put warm water in the coffee maker instead of cold water.

Delivery was fast.I found this item to be smaller than I expected. It says it is a 5 cup coffee maker but it barely makes 2 cups.That is disappointing,

We are a retired couple and have been using a similar Maxi-Matic Elite Cuisine EHC-5055 Automatic Brew & Drip Coffee Maker for over 15 years. We recently bought our 3rd coffee maker and had even gifted similar product to our friends.
Almost as expected
Not same carafe lid as my old Sunbeam so that became garbage (broke its carafe).Lid too low to trigger Sunbeam to drip.Same carafe though. It still drips unexpectedly when pouring at first.Moral of the story ...If I'd kept the old lid, I'd have a choice of this black machine or my original 7yo white Sunbeam on the countertop.
Not the best
I would have given this a 1 star, but the temperature is good and hot, and it seems to hold the heat for a long time, so I gave it a 2.I do NOT like the pot. At all. The spout is too far in from the body and it's a small spout. This makes it hard to keep from spilling when pouring and it always leaks. Didn't matter if it was a slow or fast pour - dripples all over - when pouring into a cup or into the water basin.I get that it's trying to be "compact", but with the water chamber having a small width and the awful pot, it always spills when trying to fill the chamber. If using something other than the pot, it might be "ok", but still not impressed. The small width also makes it hard to clean, if grounds or other things get into the water chamber., even smaller hands is difficult.It is VERY loud, when finishing. So, if you are trying not to wake other members of your house (or the office in my case), good luck.Not happy.
