Bought for my 3rd year of medical school. The suturing pad is tough and handles many repetitions. I have passed in down to friends and it is still holding up.

I needed to brush up on my suture skills. This is a nice little kit to do that. You can sew all kinds of shapes of lacerations and then take the sutures out and do it again. If you have a way to access real suture material, I would recommend you use that instead of what comes with the kit though.

The suture kit itself has all of the tools that you need to learn how to throw basic ties and learn how to instrument tie. It has a needle driver, scissors, pick-ups, as well as a scalpel and blades to learn how to cut. The tools themselves are good quality and are durable. The needle driver locks and unlocks well which is good so the needle does not slip out. Also, they give you many different styles of practice sutures to try from which makes this product a good deal. This kit is ideal for learning how to tie surface/top stitches.Some of the downsides are the suture pad itself. The silicone is a bit tough and had to suture. Also it is difficult to practice deep suturing since it is hard to take the deep bites needed for a proper deep suture. Also the needles are big and hard to use on a smaller suture pad like this. But overall, it is a good choice for a beginner learning how to suture.

NIce kit that includes everything I need to practice my suturing skills. The suturing pad is nice and thick and sticks to my work surface nicely and doesn't move around while suturing. Nice assortment of sutures to practice with and the instruments are of pretty good quality. Overall a really nice way to practice suturing.

My daughter has shown interest in becoming a nurse and she asked for this item so she can begin to practice. She’s only 9 but you can never start too early.
