Exactly what my husband was looking for to put our bread and snacks in. Looks nice on the counter. Easy to assemble.
5.0 out of 5 stars IMHO, many of the negative reviews are wrong about difficult assembly
C'mon, people, this is a simple breadbox with a top, bottom, two side pieces, and a sliding door that fits into grooves on the sides. Eight screws, four on each side. There is a labelled picture of each part and picture assembly instructions. My seven-year-old grandson puts together LEGO gadgets much more complicated than this. Check out the parts before you start. If something is broken, you probably need to return it and get a replacement unless a little glue will put it right. UPS folks are stretched pretty thin nowadays and stuff does get broken in shipping in the best of times. I don't think that's worth a meltdown and a scathing review. If you find yourself heading in that direction, maybe try breathing into a bag. Or maybe offer your UPS delivery person a tip once in a while.In the interest of fewer bad reviews, I will try to give some tips on how you can avoid common problems in this and, perhaps, future assemblies. First off, there is a mistake in the drawing for step 2: part B shouldn't be as shown and the slots won't line up for the bottom piece if you put it in that way. Take it out, turn it around, and all will be well. Takes about 10 minutes to put it together after you have found your philips screwdriver, maybe less if you don't have arthritic fingers.Remember to stick each screw most of the way through the predrilled hole in each side so you can see to get the screw started straight into the predrilled hole in the top and the two bottom rails. then line up the pieces correctly (top might need a little adjusting to fit it up - LOOK at alignment before tightening the screws! Remember that bamboo is a fairly hard wood that doesn't take well to bending or forcing. If the screw doesn't turn with moderate force, look to see if it's crooked in the hole, back it out and get it in straight. Then don't tighten the screws all the way until all eight are semi-tight and you have checked alignment of parts. The bottom and back are thin pieces that may be warped, not unusual in my experience. In my case, the bottom was slightly warped. I put it in with the crown facing up and the edges firmly in the slots, and it fit fine when I tightened all the screws.Once together, it felt solid and the sliding door slid just fine. I thought the door might give some trouble, so I checked its motion at each step after putting in, which turned out not to be necessary. The breadbox looks good and it holds a round boule out of my oven, about 9" in diameter, plus something as big as a loaf of store bread. (You can imagine bagels and crackers if you find store bread offensive.) I don't think you could get two 9" boules in at the same time, but I haven't tried that. All in all, it does what a breadbox is supposed to do: keeps the bread relatively moist (might need a bag on it after a couple of days) and you can put things like your breadboard and knife on the top. And it looks good, especially for a breadbox that's half to two thirds the cost of preassembled bamboo breadboxes.So don't be put off by the negative reviews unless you're one of those people whose home toolkit consists of a broken jack knife and a bent fork you found on the street. Even if you're in that category, go out and buy a medium size philips screwdriver and a flat blade one as well. You're gonna need those sooner or later in life anyhow.

This is only for the roll-top box without a shelf. The box is nice and big. Bottom and back looks like a thin layer of particle board sandwiched between outer layers of bamboo. The roll top is bamboo slats held together with cloth glued to the bottom; the cloth is not very well glued on and has dark areas; I wouldn't lick it. On mine the knob was loose: the hole for the screw was drilled too big. Fixed by taking out the screw, inserting a piece of toothpick in the hole and re-screwing. The parts are precisely cut, smooth. But several edges are unfinished (not rounded) and so prone to producing thin, very sharp and painful splinters. Recommend rounding all square edges off with a small file (or nail file, emery board, sandpaper, etc.) before assembly. Lubricate the roll-top slots on the side pieces and the edges of the roll-top with a candle before assembly. Instructions suck: just pictures with no explanation and important details not highlighted. Assemble carefully: the bottom/back support piece (B) can fit two ways; only one way will align both grooves in it correctly for top and back pieces. Don't attach the top until both the bottom and the back are inserted: it will make it easier to align pieces. Don't tighten screws all the way until all pieces are fully aligned and fit. Lubricate screws before using by sliding them against a candle or a soap bar to make driving them easier. In spite of the above, the result is very nice and I am happy with the box so far.

Looks cool, convient sliding door that stays open or closed, kept my Italian bread soft, while also holding my crackers and oatmeal. Totally worth it. Fits on my shelves

Fits a loaf of bread and 2 pkgs of English muffins. Fits 2 loaves of bread. Fits a loaf of bread and single pastry's not in a pkg. It is not an eyesore, it compliments your counter top. The roll top it has works good for me. It was already assembled. Don't expect to forcefully open the rolltop, go slow and no issues. If you are too fast it might catch and not open. It is so easy to use you won't want to open it forcefully or a fast speed. I have a spouse who feels he has to do almost anything in life at a fast speed. He's learned it works great when you move at a normal speed, slower than he moves in life. You won't be disappointed. The measurements are accurate so measure your space and see if it will fit for you. It is perfect for me. I don't like bread in cabinets or pantry's. I don't like the smell of bread emitting from the plastic. I have a highly sensitivity to smells and I had to find a way this would not be bad for me and this breadbox fixed the problem for me. Now my pantry and cabinets don't assail my nose when I open their doors. The bread box doesn't smell either because it isn't a sealed unit. I recommend this for the items it can handle. Less pkging, more product it will hold. If you bake bread, yumm, you will love it.

Thought I was ordering a bread box. Turns out I ordered a bread box DIY kit! 😂 Assembly was a little awkward but not too bad. Now it looks adorable and keeps my bread cozy.

Arrived in just a few days after ordering.Good quality pieces, nothing was damaged or broken.Instructions and all screws were in the box. Instructions were illustrated in very basic steps but it’s only a few pieces to screw together so wasn’t difficult at all.Nice and spacious for a good size loaf and a few pastries.
