This one is the best one I’ve ever had! I’ve had many vacuums, both corded and cordless, over the last few years. The cordless never seemed to be picking up enough and didn’t last long before something breaking on them. This vacuum has so much suction and power that it fluffed my carpet up and made it feel like it was new again. I had just vacuumed the night prior to receiving this vacuum. I vacuumed just one room and so much came up that it goes to show that these cordless vacuums are junk. I can honestly say that this is the happiest I’ve been with any vacuum, even over higher end cordless or corded ones. If you’re looking for a good vacuum, this is the one!

Bought this for the second floor of one of one of my houses so I don't have to carry my heavy Hoover up narrow, steep converted attic stairs. Second floor, about a thousand square feet, is all carpeted and this worked fine. Attic was probably converted in the 1950s to two bedrooms, sitting room, hallway and half bath and I am pretty sure this vacuum pulled some 1950s dirt out of the carpets up there. Really great suction. Foot controls, handle release and power are a bit difficult to hit first try and I have small feet, but this is a minor inconvenience.My first bagless vacuum. Don't miss the bags. Easy to dump cylinder.

This is a very good vacuum, especially for the price. It is lightweight and it swivels! It has great suction and like the vacuum I owned before it it can be taken completely apart to be cleaned inside. I like this feature because I have a dog and the dander/dirt that builds up inside the vacuum over time is what can ruin a vacuum.I wish that the vacuum hose had a way to lock and unlock like my previous vacuum. It’s difficult to pull it off sometimes without moving the vacuum all over the place. There is no way to shut off the beater bar, which the way it is designed works for every application except vacuuming out your vehicle. I take the floor mat out of the vehicle to set the vacuum on, so it doesn’t suck dirt off the ground. When you use the hose and wand, the suction becomes way less through the main part of the vacuum, but it will vacuum dirt off the ground..All in all a great vacuum, especially for the price.

I have had this vacuum for 2.5 years now, so I think that's a pretty good amount of time to know what's good and bad about it. My previous vacuum was a Dyson Ball Animal, which I had for five or six years, so that's what I'm comparing it to. Overall the Bissell is a good vacuum, mainly because the suction power is amazing. Even when my Dyson was new it didn't have the suction power that the Bissell does, and for the last few years before it died I was having to use one of those scraper tools to pull all the cat hair up out of our rugs first before vacuuming, which was very labor intensive. We currently have 13 cats in the house, so it's extremely important for us to have a reliable vacuum that works very well and can handle all the cat hair. The Bissell can do that!So here are the main things I like about this vacuum: it has absolutely no trouble pulling ALL the cat hair out of the rugs, and of course hardwood/tile floors are no problem. The little side bristles help to pull in dirt and hair next to baseboards, which is also really helpful. It's very lightweight and swivels on a dime, so it's easy to handle. The tank is large and very easy to empty, and even when hair gets stuck up around the filter, it's big enough to reach into. That was a problem with the Dyson, because hair would get stuck up near the top but it was almost too small to reach into so I'd have to use a hangar to get everything out. I also like that the cord retracts, and there's a little thing near the top of the handle that you can clip the cord into to help keep it out of the way. Changing the belt is fairly easy - but I'll get into that later.The things I don't like as much: The hose works fine and some of the tools are good, like the one with the brush on it, but it could be improved. This is one area where the Dyson was much better - the hose was longer and had a sort of handle, and everything was better quality. The Bissell tools are cheap and don't work as well, especially the "triple action brush roll" that's supposed to pick up cat hair. I have tried and tried to figure out how to make that thing work and it just doesn't. That is probably the biggest disappointment with the Bissell - I absolutely need an attachment that picks up cat hair to vacuum the couch, chairs, and everything else that gets covered in hair. The Dyson has an attachment like that with little rotating heads that works incredibly well. Fortunately, it fits on the Bissell hose! If you have pets I highly recommend buying that attachment by itself to use with the Bissell. It's the Tangle-Free Turbine Tool that goes with the Dyson Animal DC40 upright vacuum. I also still use the "articulating hard floor tool" that came with the Dyson, because the Bissell doesn't have anything like that and it fits on the Bissell hose. The Bissell corner tool may be useful if you have carpeted stairs but I don't have stairs and have never found a use for it.The Bissell is bigger than the Dyson and doesn't fit under things as well. Also, when using the hose you have to be very careful not to pull too much or the whole vacuum will fall over because it's so lightweight. I have learned that you have to hold onto it or lay it down to use the hose. Also, over time it has gotten louder; I'm not sure why.Those things are all minor annoyances. The main negative is the same thing many other people have mentioned - the belt breaks too easily. I'd had it less than two months when the belt broke, because I had the vacuum sitting on the edge of a rug that had fringe. While I was busy vacuuming under something with the hose, it somehow sucked the fringe up and I guess it got clogged and that snapped the belt. I was prepared for that because of other reviews, so I ordered more belts from Bissell and they arrived pretty quickly.In the directions it tells you to remove the screws from the plate on the bottom, but there is one more than it says there are. After a few minutes I figured out how to get the belt in the right place and around the roller, put everything back together, turned it on, and there was immediately a horrible noise and I swear flames came out of the vacuum before I could get it turned off. I took the bottom plate off again and not only was the new belt broken but the roller was also broken. I'm not sure what happened because I followed the directions. I contacted Bissell support and told them what happened, and it took them a couple of days to respond, but when they did they said those things aren't usually covered by the warranty but that they would send me a new roller and belt free of charge! They arrived pretty quickly. The roller was a different color than the original, but I wasn't going to gripe about a free replacement. This time after I reinstalled everything it worked perfectly.Since then it has worked great, and no more broken belts! I have learned to be somewhat careful with it. If you buy this vacuum be aware that the suction is so good it will suck up small rugs (like bath mats), and don't roll over small cords or anything loose that could get tangled up in the roller. I never worried about that with the Dyson because even if something did get sucked up I could just pull it out. The Bissell is not as sturdy but will EAT things if you're not careful.Bottom line - even with the minor annoyances I would buy this vacuum again in a heartbeat just for the suction alone, but the price definitely helps.

Very good at picking up fluffy dog fur. It's lightweight, which makes it easy to maneuver around the home. It's a bit quieter than some other vacuums I've had, but if you are looking for a quiet vacuum, this isn't it. It actually keeps its promise about vacuuming at the edges as I didn't need to use the hose attachments. I do wish the hose was either a bit longer or a bit more flexible because I find it difficult to reach things I used to reach with ease with my last vacuum. I use it on carpet and laminate flooring, and it lives up to the Bissel reputation of doing a good job. Finally, the dust cup is easy to remove and empty.

Dangerous - DO NOT BUY!

I have been offered a refund as I believe it is a faulty motor however, the cost of posting the vacuum from Singapore to the USA is simply not worth it.

I’ll try to keep this brief. Got the Dyson ball vac. It’s Dyson, right? What could be better? Well, this Bissell is better!The Dyson is IMPOSSIBLE to pull across carpet, even low pile carpet. So… I dragged the Dyson over my shag area rug section by section and got a workout I really didn’t need or want. It was frustrating and exhausting. There is no way I want to struggle like that every time I do housework.Just ran the Bissell over the same shag rug (and my cat has been staying at my daughter’s so there should be very little to pull up after the Dyson episode) and LOOK! I was momentarily worried it was going to be a problem to push as well, but it turns out it was just a learning curve and not the vacuum trying to permanently affix itself to the rug via overly intense suction.Super easy and effective on low pile carpet and bare floors. Super long cord is really nice to have and the auto rewind is a fantastic bonus. Very happy and highly recommend!

Muy buena aspiradora

Muy buen producto, tras leer muchos comentarios tuve algunas dudas al final me animé y este es mi resumen.-Excelente succión, no tengo alfombras en la casa sólo un tapete enorme y en realidad hace un excelente trabajo tanto en piso como en tapetes.-La comparamos con una aspiradora Koblenz que tiene mi mamá (según muy potente), después de aspirar con la Koblenz pasé la Bissel y sacó un contenedor completo de basura 😱.-En varios comentarios leí que se ve frágil, no sé de qué plástico indestructible eran las aspiradoras anteriores de ellos pero yo la veo igual que cualquier aspiradora, de hecho se siente resistente.-El accesorio para pelo de perro no sirve, al ponerlo gira de maravilla pero al pasarlo por el sofá o lo que sea se detiene por completo.-La manguera para usar los accesorios es muy corta, al no poderla estirar mucho se te viene encima la aspiradora.-El cable es corto, en la misma habitación tengo que cambiarla de conexión.En general estoy muy satisfecha, sin duda volvería a comprar de ésta marca.

I’m actually embarrassed to even post these photos. I’ve been using an upright stick vacuum until it broke, so I ordered this Bissell model number 2254L. The dust cup was completely full of pet hair and like an inch of dust after one swipe over. I can’t even believe my area rug was this dirty!! The suction blew me away! We have 2 cats and a dog. I am impressed!
