Just bought a new laptop and had some games I wanted to load on it. The laptop didn't have a CD/DVD drive so I bought this. It was a good price and worked great. I know have the games downloaded on my new laptop and ready to play. It is nice and compact so it is to store until I need it again. Would definitely recommend this product.

I just purchased a new desktop which did not come with a cd/dvd option. I purchased this external player so that I can easily play home movies (yes, converted from VHS!!!). This device worked perfect for my needs. I did download a Media Player to Windows 11 in order to play the DVD. Good quality for such a simple device.

The drive worked fair and was able to write DVD-R, although one disc could not be read by my DVD player, but did read in someone else's DVD player. Then I had opportunity to write a CD-R and it got error, could not write. The supplier sent a new drive, and it worked all the way. I don't know how well the supplier tests product. The first drive may have been an infant mortality from minimal usage. The second drive would not write DVD-R at first, but started working after rebooting the system. It's hard to understand how the same model drive needed a reboot. But now everything works ok. The cable is a bit short, so the drive has to be oriented sideways on my desktop.The following week, I discovered the new one sometimes failed to write DVD. I found out that it works ok in the USB 2.0 port. Therefore, if a write problem shows up, it will likely work in the USB 2.0.

Great product for the price. Works well for old CDs that have old pictures and documents or just watching DVD movies. Its size makes it easy to pack up and travel and plug in and have it sit on top of your desktop or nearby a laptop. It runs fairly quiet and fast. Overall, a good external DVD/CD drive and does exactly what it is supposed to do! Now a days, most PC's don't come with a DVD/CD drive built in, this is a great option! I have a Mac and multiple PC's with different operating systems. It's compatible with all of them. Another feature I really like is that it has a built in USB cable. I don't need to find another cable to connect it and know I always have it when I need it. I'm really impressed.

Perfect tool to review and organize old family photos and videos stored on CDs. Very light weight and easy to use. Didn’t know how we would get into our family treasures, given laptops no longer have CD/DVD drive; so happy to find this product! Great price, fast delivery.

I needed a way to play DVDs on my laptop. This drive works great and is super easy to use. My husband was even able to play old CD games with it. Definitely worth the purchase.
3.0 out of 5 stars keep getting error that the disk is empty
It will not write on cd-r's. I don't want to use a dvd because the iso I am trying to burn is only 508 mb, the cd is 700 mb. I have tried reading the disc on my pc and laptop each one ask me if I want to write a disk again. You can see by the one photo I uploaded that the cd was written by the imprint on the cd that I am holding. I've tried 5 different disc using different methods. Time to use this as a paper weight.

I bought this unit because of its low price. The one I received wasn't properly recognized by Windows or MacOS, so I sent email to the company's support at the address they had provided in the instructions. They responded quickly and sent me a replacement that arrived in a couple of days. That one works well on both Windows and Apple and appears to be well-made.I was thinking about down-rating it by a star, but their support for handling the problem worked so well I really couldn't fault them. I would buy from them again without hesitation.
