I use this flour for making Pumpernickel bread. It imparts a wonderful, earthy, nutty flavor. I do recommend this product if the reader is experimenting with bread baking or is in search of something new to try. It makes great Rye bread - I don't add caraway seeds to my mix; not a fan. Any way. Give it a try if you're adventurous.

I've typically purchased all of my pantry staples from bulk barrels at my favorite grocer, however, over the past several months bulk foods have been prohibited due to virus concerns. After searching online sources and having two orders for rye flour cancelled due to lack of inventory on other brands, I decided to try this one. Good find, extremely quick delivery, excellent quality and competitive price. And...my sourdough starter is very happy with it.

It’s a good rich dark rye. I’d say more winter, pumpernickel like and that is a very good thing. Great fresh smell and taste. Because this flour is not so easy to find it’s difficult to compare, however it is nicer than the branded rye I’ve used. I am very pleased and I will order it again...and did. Now it is on my subscribe and save.

There are only 2 cups of flour in bag. I made rye bread (2 cups white, 1 cup rye), it was kinda ok, see pic, but i didnt quiet get that rye flavor. I will try again in breadmaker, may be as well me messed up.Here is recipe if you up to chslenge:Rye flour 1 cup, white / bread flour 2 cups, 1 bag of active yeist, 1/4 cup sugar, 2 tbsp oil, 1 cup warm water , salt, sesame seeds. Gluten helps with texture, but i didnt have any. Mix sugar and yeist and few spoons of flour and warm water, cover and let sit about 20 mon. Add more flover and mix, knedl until used up all flour, form ball, place in bowl, cover and let rise anout an hour in warm place. Shape, let rise little and bake at 350 about 30 min, watch not to burn. I am lazy owner if breakmaker, so just toss everyrhing into machine and after 3 hrs get out and eat. Try if you didnt yet, just with it was cheeper

A high quality product and an excellent value for the price. This was just what I wanted and needed to add to my sourdough starter. Actually getting ready to purchase another bag. I highly recommend it.

I don’t ever give 5 stars as all products have room for improvement but I always buy this brand of rye flour and assorted other items. Good company and great packaging.

It is flour. I put it in my recipe. Tasted fine to me. Overpriced but since you can't buy rye flour in stores anymore what choice do you have but to pay twice what rye flour used to cost?!

Pure rye flour, particularly organic, tends to be very expensive. This compny gives the most bang for the buck. I have made several loaves of bread with it so far and love it. I am a new loyal customer.
