I wish I could give this product zero stars. I bought this chair mat thinking it would protect my floor — instead, it completely ruined it.The underside has these tiny spikes meant for carpet grip, but nowhere (not even once) does it warn that these will poke holes all over your floor like a thousand tiny nails. I placed it on my hardwood floor for just a few days and now I have hundreds of small holes and scratches, and the finish is completely shredded. I’ve attached a photo — this isn’t light wear, this is permanent, widespread damage.This product is marketed as a mat for low pile carpet, but nowhere in the listing does it make it clear that it will destroy any hard surface you put it on. And let’s be real — most people use these on hardwood or laminate, not shag carpet from 1982.Bolo should NOT be labeling this as an "Bolo’s Choice." If I could go back in time, I’d happily pay 10x more for a proper mat instead of dealing with the cost of floor refinishing now. Absolutely infuriating.Avoid this thing like the plague if your floor isn’t carpeted.

I bought this since I have an office with low pile carpet. I tried this for a few days, and it left divets in the mat so now my chair doesn't roll very well. It keeps falling into those divets. I'm not a heavy person either, I only weigh 105. So, for anyone a little lighter or heavier will have the same issues. The price of this product definitely reflects the quality. Save yourself hassle of a return and just get one that's thicker and stronger. This will work just fine on hardwood or tile flooring, I think.

Good carpet protection; easy desk chair rolling
This certainly is a good mat for putting over a 1 inch high pile carpet to ensure the desk chair casters roll easy and the carpet is protected. So far it's doing a great job! The size is just right, though it could be another 2 inches wider to be perfect for me.

Unfair Charge for Express Delivery
Our new chair mat is perfect!I'm just peeved that it was delivered 7 days after I paid $8.99 for express delivery ... 2 days after the birthday it was to be a gift for.
Breaks down over time
Less than a year later this mat is cracking and crumbling. As many have noted, the softness of the material allows chair castors to sink into it and eventually create holes in the material. It's possible this is causing back problems for me as my chair leans when it drops into the holes. Problems I didn't have before the holes developed. I will not buy another.
