5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps Our Granddaughter Safe
Our granddaughter is at that age where she likes to explore everything inside and out whether mom and dad are asleep or awake. My stepson and DIL were at their wits end. I remembered my sister had sensors when her kids were young that would go off whenever a door or window was opened. So I started looking for a set that did that, but everything I found were complete security systems. So I thought, well, a little extra security isn't a bad thing. This comes with a main unit, a wired siren, 5 motion sensors, 12 door and window sensors, 4 remotes, and a power supply. I was actually surprised at how affordable it was for everything it comes with. The primary reason for choosing this system was the 12 door and window sensors. Now when our granddaughter tries to "escape," I mean "explore," mom and dad hear the alarm and get notified. They used the motion sensors near the doors and the hallway just outside her room. This way they know when she's coming and going from her room, but also, if a sensor doesn't catch her, there are several backups in various places.Another reason I chose this system was that it was wireless. There was no drilling or having to open walls. The installation was easy and straightforward. The built-in battery means that even if the electricity goes out, the system still works. You can even use the system to call emergency services.Another neat feature is that you can set a timer to turn the system on or off and even set it to bypass certain sensors.Overall, it's a good system that is affordable. The most important part is that it keeps our granddaughter safe.
1.0 out of 5 stars Remote siren works sometimes and sometimes not.
This unit is fairly easy to install and not very hard to set up. Motion detectors work pretty consistently as do the magnetic sensors. What I do not like about this one is, the remote siren works sometimes and sometimes does not. This is a HUGE issue for me because you cannot hear the siren which is built into the unit if the remote siren doesn't work. The unit has to be installed inside of the facility out of the weather and unless a door is opened, you cannot hear the siren. I emailed the seller but the only answer I got was to check the wires which you have to install in the back of the unit yourself to be certain they are making contact. Well, that was the first thing I checked and RECHECKED several times with no luck. So, I just accept the remote siren may or may not work as it would be a pain to have to return this alarm and deal with getting another one, etc. for the money, I'll just keep it and at some point, buy another brand or upgrade to a better unit. Maybe I just received a defective unit, I'm not saying ALL of these alarms have this problem but it's aggravating that it doesn't work as it's supposed to. IF the remote siren worked ALL OF THE TIME AS IT SHOULD, I would give this alarm five stars and sing it's praises but unfortunately that's not the case for me.
5.0 out of 5 stars New Security System!!
We installed a 24-piece burglar alarm system in my old farmhouse and it honestly has brought me a lot of peace of mind. With several recent break ins around our rural area, I’ve been extra worried about security for me and my family. The creaky floors and drafty windows of our old farmhouse didn’t help, and my scattered security cameras weren’t enough to ease my nerves. So, my husband got me this system, and I’m genuinely thrilled with it.I have to say that setting it up was way easier than I expected. There were so many different items included that at first it was a little daunting. We are by no means tech wizards, but the instructions were pretty straightforward, and since it’s wireless, I didn’t have to mess with drilling holes and running cables through our plaster walls and brick exterior. This kit came with 23 pieces, and included sensors for indoors and out, a siren, and a control panel. I do think the control panel is really very easy to use. I placed sensors on every window and door, and an extra one in the garage. It is sensitive enough to catch a door or window moving just a bit. If it goes off, it calls up to six numbers I programmed in, we chose to just put in ours for now, but we can add more later if desired. I really like that it has got a battery backup, so it will work even if our power goes out. I can also use the panel to make emergency calls if needed!I do feel more secure and don't worry about it as much now.
4.0 out of 5 stars Love it
EXCELLENT product! I do have one small issue. I use it for my shop and the motion detection devices keep setting it off. I am assuming. It may be bugs crawling on the sensor. If there is a fix for this, I'd definitely add the 5th star it so richly deserves.
5.0 out of 5 stars Home Alarm System, Easy to Install and Use
So I’ve been using the 23-piece wireless DIY alarm kit for a little while now, in our house. Setting it up was actually easier than I thought, it’s all wireless, so no drill or run cables through the walls. Just stick the sensors where you want them and you’re good to go.The 4G feature is a nice touch, it sends the messages right to my phone. The control panel is pretty easy to use, and it even looks nice on the wall, not too big or outdated like some others I’ve seen. The sensors work great, and I like that I can customize how everything works depending on whether I’m home or out. There are just enough pieces in the kit to cover all the main spots in my place.Overall, it’s been a great little upgrade, reliable, easy to use, easy to install and simple but good. Great quality and value.
3.0 out of 5 stars Alarm
It was too hard to install and the alarm wasn’t loud enough in my opinion to scare off a burgler
It works but don't buy it. The company is no longer exist
Updating my comment:This company does not exist any more. Not sure why Bolo is still selling this product? Trying to clean up the stock? this alarm system has a lot of issues that you won't get any support. The sensors drain batteries very fast and the battery the door/window sensor uses is not cheap. Motion sensor uses 9v battery and it lasts only about 4 months. The devices will not tell you which one is low and no power so you will have to check them one by one once in a while to make sure they are still working. My front door sensor is still a problem. Everytime I set the alarm from the remote or on the app, it will trigger the alarm and sent you warning. i had to clear the alarm first and re-arm the alarm again before it will strarts working normally. Tried everything I could but still can't figure out what is wrong.Alarm panel will only accept one set of passcode, and the panel talks everytime you press the keys. It is very annoying especially when you get home in the middle of the night, and there is no way to disable it.The SIM card, text message, and phone call functions does not work unless you pay the ghost company money to get a SIM and pay monthly fee for text message notification or phone call fro alarm warning. It will not allow you to use you internet connection to use the function for free. I tried it for a month thinking 100 messages will be enough for a month but it did not even last for 10 days becasue the system somehow generate a lot of false alarms and it drained the qouta fast. You think you can just pay $180 to set up this alarm and monitor it yourself so you can save a lot of money from the alarm company, but it is not the case. You will be paying a great deal of money to actually consider it is fully monitored.SO, OVERALL, DO NOT BUY THIS SYSTEM TO YOU CAN SAVE YOURSELF SOME HEADACHE!!1> Easy to set up. All sensor came pre-paired but I recommend to delete all and re-pair so you know which is which.2> Came with 12 door/window sensors and 5 motion sensors enough for most of the houses.3> Came with 4 remotes for easy arm/disarm (also safety concern though if you lost the remote)4> The panel connects to wifi and there is an app for Android so you can self-monitor the alarm wherever you are.5> Motion sensor is very sensitiveCons:1> The motion sensor is too sensitive so it is not animal freindly. (tested it myself. the sensor is 7 feet high and it picked up my cat jumping off the sofa from 15 feet away.2> GSM does not work for me. No idea why. I inserted the SIM but wouldn't work. Tried all possible way to trouble shoot but none of them worked.3> It is paid service to have the panel text or call your number when alarm status is changed.4> You can only set up one set of password to arm or disarm it so you can't assign different password for each family member.5> I did some research and found out this manufacturer no longer exists so you may have a problem with customer service if you need it (personally, this is a straightforward device to set up, and you can always return it to Bolo if it is a bad/not working device)The best part of this system is that you can self-monitor the alarm system on your own device wherever you are. I was with Telus (ADT before merge) until a few days ago they purposely allowed my unpaid account to go bad (no mispayment reminder at all for 3 months, and the first email I received from Telus was to tell me my account was canceled due to outstanding balance for 3 months and they refused to reinstate my account and ask me to re-sign a 3-years contract and jack up the price by 50 percents). With this system, I can customize the system the way I prefer and I have all the information in my hand immediately available to me instead of the delayed and useless customer service call. Everything is on the app except a few things you need to set up physically on the panel.Overall, I am happy with this purchase.
You Get What You Pay For
I was happy with it at first, but ALL of the window and door sensors are now dead. I installed this system about four months ago, so I’m pretty disappointed the batteries died so quickly (they require an unusual battery size, not AA or AAA). Also, the adhesive stickers to attach the sensors to the doors and windows are not the greatest. One of the window sensors fell off in just a couple weeks. The motion sensors still work, which is nice, but I doubt they will last a very long time. I think I may have to bite the bullet and get a real home security system installed by one of those big companies. This system is good for alerting you if a door or window has been opened, but I doubt it would scare anyone away. Plus, it needs to be plugged in at all times. My unit’s battery died within the first night (I wouldn’t trust how long the “charged” unit lasts when leaving the house). Overall, it’s basically junk, hence the low price. The instructions are difficult to follow (I found a YouTube video to help me set my system up). Bottom Line: Invest in a real home security system.
Ok for the price
All the batteries were dead when the unit arrived. Seller sent replacements but the whole system has obviously been in storage through freeze and thaw cycles for a long time. This system is not something I'd recommend to someone who wants the ultimate high tech security with monitoring attached to your phone. I'm using it for my garage and it works fine. The siren wire is literally two feet long so very hard to instal it outside anywhere. Its not super loud and I don't think my neighbors on our acreage could hear it at night. If you want something that will alarm thieves when they open a door or window this is ok. If you want something that will scare the heck out of thieves and alert your phone and neighbors, I'd look at spending more money elsewhere.
It was a little tricky
It was a little tricky to figure out at first but once you get it all hooked up it works great 👍🏻Customer Service is great and they reply quickly.
Very useful
Easy to setup as has all mounts, screws, clips and 3M adhesive tape. All inclusive rechargeable battery (except for backup battery - which is not necessarily required)Single power cable required to run to clip into back main pass code keypad.3 modes: Arm/Disarm, Panic, Home(Stay).Has Date/Time and Countdown Timer options.Decibels are extremely loud since they reach 110 db in event of an alarm situation.Different codes can be setup customized to wireless door triggers (use batteries & antennas).I love this product because it’s very affordable and I can leave my house at peace. Very happy with this product so far.
