They use an ink color that does not contrast well with the package making it difficult to read. We are not all 20 years old with perfect vision.The taste is very good although the prepared product is kind of crumbly and a little harder to corral on the plate than I'd like so maybe less sausage and more eggs would help. It does seem to be about half sausage. The product is also high in saturated fat and cholesterol. I'd love to see a turkey sausage and egg white version to counter this. Also, the instructions say stir at the beginning of preparation and end which I did. Some pieces were not fully hydrated though so next time I would stir again halfway through the hydration process.So, would I buy it again. Yes. It tastes a little better than the Mountain House Classic version but that one is good too and isn't so crumbly. I expect I will buy both for camping and emergency supply.

The taste of this is really good! We added just a little extra salt. Come on now it is a freeze dried meal it isn’t going to turn out as perfectly as something cooked in your kitchen. The potatoes, onions and peppers rehydrated perfectly. The meat probably could have used a tad more water. Used 2 cups of water and probably would add a few extra Tablespoons next time. It was definitely two servings and they were large. I can have gut issues and had none with this. I strongly suspect the key to avoiding gut problems with freeze dried food is assuring you drink extra water. Liked this enought to order more. One thing Hong to keep in mind is that it takes a full 10 minutes to rehydrate. I can see this might be an issue if you are camping when it is colder outside unless you wrap the package up to contain the heat for that 10 minutes.

These are great bags, The scrambled egg actually look and taste like a scramble (well mostly)The top tear off and you pour 16oz of boiling water in to make the meal.be patient and let it sit for a bit as recommenede as it soaks better which improve taste and texture a lot.that said, its very hard to ignore the salty taste of these, and I wish there would be dedicated "low sodium" options.Finally.. there is a lot of plastic packaging here, with foil lining making it entirely impossible to recycle, this is entirely single-use packaging, would love to see this with alu-foil linking in a paper or cardboard type bag. Its hard to hike the sierras while creating such a footprint per meal. just saying, I would like to vote with my money on this, but there are not any really good alternatives.. yet anyway. Pear Refuel are you listening?

We purchased this for breakfast while visiting Grand Canyon National Park. Light weight for suitcase packing. The park hotels we're open, but only the restaurant at the Thunderbird hotel was serving a sit down breakfast. Since we were at the Yavapai hotel, our options were limited. No microwaves in Yavapai meant even more limitations. We brought a small electric kettle, boiled water, added it to pouch, STIRRED, sealed pouch and waited 15 minutes. Excellent taste and texture. Paired with muffins, bananas, and juice from the village market, we had a hearty breakfast each morning. Unless you are a huge guy, each pouch should feed 2 people. Our 6 foot 185 pound son-in-law was satisfied with his half of the pouch. So much more filling than granola bars or yogurt! Make sure water is BOILING, STIR VERY WELL, and wait 15 minutes.

I usually bring these meals when I go to festivals. The egg scramble tastes FANTASTIC. You judt add boiling water, wait 15 mins, spoon some into a wrap, add sriracha or salsa and you have the perfect meal to start the day.These pouches say they are 2 servings, but generally end up being 3 or 4 servings just for me! Absolutely recommended!

I've been backpacking since 2010 and a fan of a Pacific Northwest competitor. I only ordered one of this product to try before my upcoming 10 day hike and regret that decision greatly as this hike is one of the most challenging I've ever tried and I can't get more before I leave a.m. 8/23.This particular meal absolutely rocks. With a huge and satisfying serving size (I always eat both servings each meal anyway) great flavors and monster infusion of protein it will be one of my go to breakfast meals in the future.My only regret is not having ordered additional meals in time for my hike. After testing I expected to pick up more at my local distributor (Sportsman's Warehouse) but they only had dinners, and darn few of them. Based on my breakfast experience I purchased 3 dinners anyway.

I brought theses on a hike of the Long Trail in Vermont. They have more calories per package than most dehydrated food, which is good, but there really was not much flavor to them. The texture was OK and the instructions were clear.

I was nervous to try freeze dried eggs and the thought of adding water to eggs struck me as odd. But this was probably my favorite peak meal that I got. It was quite filling for two people as well. Simple prep, simple clean up. Light weight to pack. Love peak refuel!

Super Tasty!
Brought two of these to spice up breakfast every few days on my last portage and was really impressed. Tons of flavour the peppers and onions mixed with the sausage and seasoning all balanced out. I put them on a tortilla and made a break feast burrito out of them. I found I actually had to put a little less water than what was recommended. These really made my buddies jealous when they were having oatmeal for the 4th day in a row. Overall would recommend. Especially if you bring some ketchup packs or a little thing of hot sauce. Only con for me would be the size. Found them fairly bulky and took up quite a bit of space compared to my other meals.

Great Taste
Giving this product 5 stars for taste. The instructions on the back were a bit too fine of print to try to read in the dark. Package says it’s 2 servings but .. you’d have to have a small appetite to be able to get 2 servings out of it. No real complaints, taste was great and way better than other backpacking breakfast meals I’ve had.
Lots of good food
Great portions, just add water. I like mine a little spicy so franks made this great breakfast even better
