The Cross Century Gunmetal Grey fountain pen is synonymous with a Bugatti Chiron. A penetrating, soother, definite instrument that articulates as a Olympic figure skater who’s captured the gold. I own a number of different models of fountain pens, however until I had the unadulterated pleasure of this instrument, I didn’t know pristine joy.

Everything below is going to be in the format of a rant and I hope that they will see this and make some changes.This is my second time buying from this company, I originally bought a ballpoint and a rollerball from them and they were really good and I loved them so much, I decided to get a fountain pen to complete the trinity. Well that box arrived today and I have so many negatives about the pen. The description said there will be two cartridges, but only a single half empty one arrived. For the price point I expect a convertor, but because it said in the description it will not, I had to buy a 15 dollar convertor which includes tax and shipping fees. I knew this was going to be a somewhat expensive hobby as not only a collector of pens, but a person who uses them pretty much whenever I can, but this just felt really disingenuous especially coming from a company that is known for producing pens for presidents. Either way once I opened the box, it came with three things, the pen, a single half full cartridge, and a white substance all over the nib of the pen. Like even if this was the one being tested for quality control, I expect it to be cleaned by the end of it instead of sending it out as it is. The only good thing and I hate to say it, as it the one stereotype about a luxury brand, is always the dam good packaging. The packaging feels heavy and has excellent presentation.

It looks beautiful, but ultimately it does not write well at all. Not smooth and with an extremely stiff nib, there are many better options at this price range.

If you want a pen that acts as a shake weight, this is your pen. It never bleeds ink for more than a few lines. My 8$ speedball works better.

Conoscevo gia' la marca Cross ma questa penna ha superato abbondantemente le mie aspettative. Il pennino fine e' eccezionale.

Joli design, mais mauvais stylo
Comme souvent avec Cross, le design est top. Le revêtement gris métallisé beau et agréable au touché. Oui mais voilà : à part ça, la qualité n'est plus là. Premier défaut : la pièce (en plastique !) par où l'on tient le stylo n'est pas parfaitement adaptée au cylindre. Résultat : une accroche à la base. Pas super. Deuxième défaut : la plume est nulle. Le bec n'est même pas symétrique et le moins qu'on puisse dire est que ça ne glisse pas sur la feuille... Elle est de plus très rigide et il n'est pas agréable d'écrire avec. Enfin, troisième défaut, l'encre coule difficilement. On écrit et parfois le flux s'interrompt. Il faut donner un coup sec pour refaire affluer l'encre (et le problème n'est pas l'encre, vu la marque haut de gamme que j'utilise...). Bref : une vraie déception, et étant donné le prix déjà élevé, c'est dommage. Le stylo est léger, assez fin (ce qui ne facilite pas l'écriture) et nécessite l'achat en plus d'un converter.
