The Ring Alarm Contact Sensor (2nd Gen) is an excellent addition to my home security setup! Installation was a breeze—I simply attached the sensors to my doors and windows, and they immediately synced with my Ring Alarm system. The setup process was simple, and the app made it incredibly easy to monitor and control.What I really love about these sensors is how responsive they are. I get instant notifications on my phone if a door or window is opened, which is exactly what I need to stay alert when I'm not home. The sensors are small, discreet, and blend in well with my home’s decor without drawing too much attention. Z-wave is wonderfully reliable, having a base station and an extender ensures that all instances of change are tracked, even if the Wi-Fi goes down, and that the base alarm will activate with or without it. Z-wave is why I go with Ring for my exterior alarming, rather than Wi-Fi. Zigbee would probably work plenty well enough, when I can eventually figure out how to set up an MQTT server to take it offline and self-reliant, but the Ring station is prebuilt and already accomplishes the task out-of-the-box, so yay. Of course, still need Wi-Fi to check the logs, but arming/disarming can be done from the keypad even without Wi-Fi, and if Wi-Fi's online, it can be done from the phone app. Robust and convenient. The developer's mindfulness to allow for backwards-compatibility with prior versions is commendable, too. I like complicated setups, but I like simple setups, too.

Great product very easy to install and practical to use. It needs Ring Base Station to work. I have bought more than a dozen used it not only doors, but also storage cabinets and drawers etc.

Easy to install! Compatible with ring security system. The button can be pressed to allow the door to open 1 time from the inside, which is very convenient for letting dogs in/out while the alarm is on home mode.

The only thing I will say about the ring system is it always seems like it has difficulty contacting with the main base for various places in the house. Even if you get the range extenders or a whole house Wi-Fi extender, it appears that there’s always some connection issues with these. I think they’re fine. I think ring is an OK system. But I’m only gonna give it four stars because even with range extenders, etc. I still have connection issues if one of the unit is on the other side of the house.

Need to add more doors or windows to your Ring alarm? These will do the trick. I needed two and guess what? It comes in a two pack. Easy installation. My only suggestion is to use screws to mount as the adhesive may not last long under certain conditions. Integrates well with Alexa. Good value, easy setup. A slam dunk.
