As i put it together, I made dado cuts in plywood sides and cut and inserted underlayment pieces to divide each compartment in half. My goal was finding a way to visually isolate each object for its unique individual qualities. The cubby wooden storage does not have enough integrity (after my alterations) to be transported as was the original concept.

Run do not walk from this posting. Instructions to build are not easy, the video here is helpful. However the product is poorly made. I built the entire thing only to have the end cabinet holes not align with shelves at all. There were multiple boards missing holes where items should be. A replacement was sent out and in far worse shape. Split boards, holes misaligned again as well. This product weighs almost 90 lbs and is poor quality. Do not buy.

Overall it is sturdy and suits our needs but the problems came during assembly. One of the vertices for the shelf dividers was missing two pre-drilled holes for the screw posts so we had to make those. Half of the holes for the cam locks were not drilled deep enough so the locks wouldn’t seat properly. Most of my time spent on “assembly” was digging with a flat tip to scrape out the wood to make the holes the right depth. One of the shelves was routed improperly for the back to slide into making it misalign when it came time to add the sides. I chiseled the corners and edges on the channel closest to the outside edge to make it fit. Lastly, as someone already mentioned, some of the screw holes were misaligned also. What should have been a 30 minute assembly after unpacking turned into 2.5 hours. It should not be this difficult or else just send it whole.

I barely got halfway through installing this myself at home and I could not put the top or the bottom boards on because there were zero holes drilled into the boards there was no way to put the screws into them. I'm left here with a half put together and my kids shoes and coats are now a mess all over this is awful. Yes i did install it the correct way I even took it all apart looking for these holes that were supposed to be in here and there was nothing drilled. I cant put this together.
