These speakers 110% deliver the solid sound, presence and genuine aesthetic of that warm, inviting and highly approachable wooden box loudspeaker from the 1970s and 80s, but through modern high quality drivers, crossovers and design. You can listen to these for hours on end and not be fatigued with treble harshness. Wharfedale really outdid themselves with the value proposition of these speakers.Having always been looking at the Klipsch Heresy series as an end-game floor standing loudspeaker to give me the sound and look I wanted, I stumbled upon these as an less expensive option. As much as the Heresy is both revered and ridiculed by some, this is a more middle-of-the-road approach to achieving that heritage look and sound but not being overly indulgent in sensitivity to equipment. There’s no static or hum with unshielded electrical interference. These sound great with my 27 year old Sony AVR, but even better with my Yamaha 801. Their sensitivity is 90db and 6ohm which allows for a wide variety of acceptable amplification. The defining trait of their sound signature would be the smooth, non-fatiguing treble and punchy lower midrange. Smooth doesn’t mean they lack detail. Playing Led Zeppelin through these speakers is like listening to them play in your room. Vocals are clear and revealing, and you will feel the kick drums like they are 6 feet in front of you. I played ‘Enter Sandman’ off of Metallica’s Black Album on these speakers and ended up listening to the entire 63 minute album because these speakers sounded so energetic! It was like I never had heard the album the way it was supposed to be played!Imaging and soundstage are great, but maybe not as precise as the renowned Elac UB5. I have those as well and if I need to hear that precision during critical listening sessions, Elac’s truly excel in that regard. But the Elacs are much more fatiguing with their treble, the Lintons are not. That makes the Linton much more enjoyable for long listening sessions.Build quality is HQ furniture grade. The book matched walnut veneer is real. These are very solid and heavy. Well braced and have a solid sound when you knock with your fist. No resonance.Having these for several months now, I can honestly say they have been highly enjoyable and have eliminated my desire to keep upgrading speakers. They are end game. Lively and dynamic with Zeppelin and Metallica, but rich sounding and warm playing Simon and Garfunkel or James Taylor.Get these while you can.

I was coming from a set of Klipsch Heresy III that were smack in your face all the time. There is nothing warm or inviting about them but there was something magical when you played Led Zepplin on Vinyl at volumes that most people including my wife would cringe at. However, I'm getting older and those volumes very rarely get pushed and my listening style has changed dramatically. I sit back now and actually listen to what's being played at low to mid volumes. I have had a lot of equipment over the years and as much as I had loved my Klipsch they just didn't do it for me anymore. I wanted something warm, inviting, robust that I haven't had in a long time. I shopped around for weeks, read 100's of reviews and watched 100's of videos before I decided to pick these up. Skeptical due to there price for a 3 way design. They can't possible sound better then some of classics I have had over the years costing triple or quad what these cost. Well I can say after putting at 100 hrs on them with a tube pre and solid state amp 100 watts into 4 ohms, they are without a doubt a fantastic sounding speaker. Can you get better in this price range and up? You would have to dish out significantly more money to get what your getting here. Very Very happy with this purchase as these maybe the last set I ever own...

There are SO many fake reviews (including videos) out there, but I took the average of many reviews of these speakers, and decided to buy without actually hearing pair; and frankly, these speakers are every bit as good as they say.The depth, punch and detail from these speakers are astonishing. Driven by my 100+100W Yamaha amp with 24 bit DAC, this is the most amazing upgrade I have done, boosting the sound quality from "good" to extremely/astonishingly good. Yes, they look a bit old fashioned (and if anything, that is my only negative point), but if you want quality sound at all volumes, these are the speakers for you. My tastes in music are extremely varied; being anything from classical, to jazz to modern rock, and with each type of music, these speakers revealed details that I had not heard before.
