Wish they had raspberry with dark chocolate
5.0 out of 5 stars Yum
These are not health chocolates. These are fake-flavored-blueberry-filling-and-dipped-in-dark-chocolate chocolates. Good for now and again, but not for staple candies. They melt easily. The filling is chewy with a consistency somewhere in between caramel and honey. Tastes like fake blueberries.Best enjoyed with others, because these lose their novelty quickly - especially when half the box is eaten suddenly when you are alone. At first, you might suspect it's ghosts. But eventually, the stomachache and the extreme loss of attraction to these candies point to the true culprit.
1.0 out of 5 stars Only flowers should “bloom!”
As the photos show, the chocolate has a white tinge which is called “chocolate bloom.” This is typically caused by two reasons: either the chocolate is old and past it’s prime; or it wasn’t stored properly and went from hot to cold temperatures, causing the chocolate to break down and “Bloom” early. As you can see in the photos, this candy is good through September 2026 so it’s definitely not old or past its prime which means it’s most likely due to being stored improperly. I earned two culinary degrees, have numerous national certifications including with the ACF, and teach culinary arts, so I am speaking from an educated position. Considering all the other reviews with photos showing the same condition of the chocolate, it makes me wonder why this is such a common occurrence. The quality control is obviously lacking after the product is boxed for sale, which is unfortunate because Sweets has been making amazing candy for over a century.
5.0 out of 5 stars Old Fashion Candy You'll want
I didn't see where to buy these. As a kid I use to eat them buy couldn't find them until I saw them on Bolo. They arrived last week and my husband never had them before. We ate them and you HAVE to trust me, they are Delicious. You won't be sorry. I'm going to put them on my subscription list. Bolo makes ordering & finding products you don't even realise you want or need, very easy to purchase.
4.0 out of 5 stars Delicious
Tastes like cordial cherries. Shipper unfortunately didn't send then with a cold park so they arrived partially melted. Also, I don't know if it is made like this or if the heat did it, but the cherry filling has a texture like chewing on room temperature gummy bears/worms.
5.0 out of 5 stars Expensive but worth it
It's a tasty albeit costly treat. Found these once at a Ross around Xmas and I've been a fan ever since. They're delicious - the combo of spicy mango and dark chocolate is amazing
3.0 out of 5 stars Chocolate was flaking off
The chocolate was flaky and falling off the jelly. I have gotten these many times without this issue, maybe they were old? They still taste good, they just look sad.
5.0 out of 5 stars A truly good box of candy, especially if you love cherry!
These were yummy, and I think they are selling them now with two other equally yummy flavors, raspberry and orange. l love the dark chocolate covering, and the flavor was really great! It came wrapped in cellophane, and was fresh. The quality was excellent, and there were quite a few servings in the box, which had two layers of sticks. They were soft to eat.
