I had narrowed down to three based on price and features and this model by Phillips made the cut. When I saw it on sale I jumped on it and was glad I did. There was one fairly aggravating element though that I will share but first the good aspects of this machine. It is well built and performs flawlessly making espresso, steaming milk and even makes regular coffee. The hopper to hold the beans is large enough that I only have to fill it once every ten days or so. The espresso tastes magnificent, like a high end coffee shop. Making a latte's is more involved but still easy. The water resevoir is easily accesible from the front of the unit - something important if you place the machine under a cabinet as I did. Cleaning is equally low effort with the used coffee "pucks" being deposited in a tray in the front which can be slid out and disposed of as you wish.Now for the negative...This coffee maker came with NO INSTRUCTIONS. No quick start guide, no detailed instructions - nada. Phillips wants you to go to their website via QR code to get them. Which is no problem except their QR codes are wrong and lead you instead to 404 code empty pages. OK, no big deal right? Just use the full internet address on the box to access the instructions. Doing so leads you through a myriad of special offers for filters, coffee deals and other Phillips acccesories and extended warranties. All in multiple languages. So, after receiving my much anticipated coffee maker I spent an hour searching for instructions on the features and how to operate it. In the end I gave up. I started pressing buttons and in a day or so I had everything sorted out. Needless to say, however, this was very aggravating to not simply have a quick start guide in the box or written manual. Don't force me to go to your website and assault me with buying more stuff at least until I start using the thing I just bought. The effect, for me, is that I am reluctant to buy another Phillips product despite the fact that I love this one, simply because I don't want to waste my time trying to figure out how to use it. Put written instructions in your product packaging people! It's cheap and easy. Plus sometimes we don't want to pull out our phones or walk back and forth to a computer. Think about the user experience next time!

Way better than a keurig. Every cup of coffee taste like expresso meaning real coffee taste! Easy simple press buttons. I love how it can grind the coffee beans as needed per cup. It’s a great idea for excessive coffee drinker like my husband. 1 bag of coffee bean last 3x longer than traditional paper filter drip coffee machine. You spend more for this price but you get the quality and convenience of a true coffee . Also steamer is definitely great use for non dairy for me. Will get one for senior so they do not run into getting burned or high maintenance.

The Philips 2200 coffee machine I received had obviously been unpacked and poorly repacked in the original packaging. Perhaps it had already been returned by another customer prior to me receiving it.Not only was it not in new packaging, it was also damaged. The back panel was pulled away and showing the inside of the machine.I have ordered another Phillips 2200 and I hope it comes in its original new packaging. I want to be able to give a good review of it in the future.Edit: I very quickly received a new machine from Bolo. I have now used it for a few weeks and I am sad to say it is not great coffee. It is just okay coffee. For an okay cup of coffee I program my Philips 2200 for the most amount of beans with the least amount of water. I must do this twice to fill my 14 ounce Ember cup. The result is standard American restaurant coffee. It is certainly not close to the robust coffee I can get at my local coffee shop (as some have claimed in these reviews).Edit 2: Today is 6/2/2024. I have had my Philips 2200 for approximately 8 months. Yesterday, the grinder stopped working. I can hear it turning, but it is not grinding the coffee beans. I do not recommend this machine. I have changed my rating from 2 stars to 1 star.

Use this product every day, so far it’s held up. A little confusing to learn at first but so easy once you figured out to hold the On button or what setting you want. Love the efficiency of making a hot or iced beverage.

I've had this machine for 6 months now. I use it constantly and love everything about it except for one thing-- the intermittent "no water" errors, no matter the actual level of water in the tank. Sometimes it works right, sometimes not. At first I thought it was something I was doing wrong, but after cleanings and new filters I've decided it is just the one very annoying quirk of the machine.Other than that, once the grinder is set correctly to your preference, it's a very nice programmable espresso maker. I appreciate the ability to use pre-ground coffee as well, since I usually choose to use decaff beans in the grinder for after my morning jolt of "leaded" preground coffee. It's fairly easy to take apart for cleaning as well.If it wasn't for the water level errors, I would have given it a 5 stars.

Received this as a gift and I love it. Fresh ground coffee by the cup. It makes great coffee.The unit is larger than most coffee makers, but fits well under the cupboard.Pros: make great coffee.Cons: has a few quirks, but watching a YouTube or two you can figure out out. Makes noise at startup and while grinding the beans, so if you need to brew in silence... This is not the one for you. Seems sturdy and self cleaning... Maintenance is simple.

The media could not be loaded. Hace tiempo que nos queríamos deshacer de la cafetera de cápsulas por varios motivos: contaminación, precio....Hemos estado una temporada informándonos sobre las diferentes marcas de cafeteras, características y prestaciones de cada una de ellas. Estábamos entre 2 marcas, para nosotros las mejores, y nos hemos decantado por esta principalmente porque es un modelo que ha salido este año, por tener molinillo automatico y por ser éste cerámico (es resto de cafeteras que ronda este precio no lo tiene) lo que alarga la vida a la cafetera, por su diseño y porque Philips es una gran marca de cafeteras.Económicamente sale más barato este tipo de cafeteras que las de cápsulas, nosotros nos tomamos al día unos 3 cafés cada uno y era una ruina. Si no eres muy cafetero desde luego está máquina no merece la pena.La máquina es automática. Te avisa con un piloto cuando le hace falta agua, cuando falta café, cuando hay que vaciar el depósito de agua y café, cuando hay que descalcificarla....Viene con una tira para ver la dureza del agua y programarla segun sea de dura para un rendimiento óptimo. Se recomienda agua del grifo y el filtro aquaclean. Viene con un filtro y en teoría sirve para unas 5000 tazas de café según fabricante.En las instrucciones comenta que cada 2 meses hay que limpiar bajo el grifo el molinillo y engrasarlo para alargar la vida del aparato, limpiarlo bajo el grifo cada semana más o menos (muy sencillo de hacer), desengrasar los conductos los cada mes ( también muy sencillito). Además cuando lo necesita te avisa para descalcificarla.Que tenga molinillo integrado es una pasada, no tiene precio tomarte en menos de un minuto un café recién molido dándole únicamente a un botón. El café sale con espuma y delicioso, no tiene nada que ver con las cápsulas, esto de verdad es café. Puedes elegir la intensidad del café, lo largo que lo quieres, si quieres expreso o americano y dentro de donde se ponen los granos puedes elegir 12 grados de molido del café a través de una rueda. Si alguien quiere un descafeinado, no hay problema ya que tienen un depósito para preparar café molido.El sistema de calentar la leche es una pasada, en pocos segundos tienen la leche caliente y con una espuma increíble.No podemos estar más contentos con haber elegido está cafetera. Si te gusta de verdad el café está sin duda es tu cafetera.

La mia prima automatica, felicissimo di aver fatto il passaggio!
Premetto che non sono uno scienziato del caffè, ho letto altri recensioni di acquirenti molto più tecniche che mi sono servite a capire meglio come sfruttare la macchina. Inoltre sono un attento consumatore di caffè (non meno di 2, non più di 4 al giorno), ma non un vero amante del suo sapore. Diciamo che vedo più il caffe da un punto di vista di un integratore che come una bevanda da sorseggiare (oltre alla caffeina, il caffe contiene molte sostanze benefiche), ma ovviamente anche io sono attento al discorso del buon gusto, anche se gioca una parte molto meno importante nelle mie valutazioni. Inoltre è la prima macchina automatica che uso, fin'ora solo moka e macchina con braccetto e caffe in polvere o cialde.Fatta questa premessa, vi elenco brevemente pro e contro:Pro:- esteticamente bella e tra le automatiche più compatte: uno dei motivi per cui l ho scelta, dato che sarà sempre a vista nella mia cucina. Per l'ingombro ci tengo a far notare che le macchine non automatiche, quelle con il braccetto, seppure piu piccole di dimensioni, sono ugualmente ingombranti dato che necessitano dello spazio per gli accessori e per le cialde. Ovviamente rispetto a una moka non c è storia. Ci tengo sempre sotto una tazza color nero opaco che si integra bene con il design, cosi da renderla pure piu pratica da usare, come spiegherò dopo.- Economica: essendo la mia prima macchina automatica, l'altro motivo per cui l ho scelta è che era la piu economica con buone recensioni (l ho presa durante il black Friday a 260€). Anche rispetto alle manuali a braccetto, se si considerano i prezzi di tutti gli accessori spesso venduti a parte, il prezzo non è tanto alto. Inoltre caffe in polvere e cialde / capsule, sono piu costosi del caffe in chicci, quini alla lunga il prezzo si ammortizza.- Semplice e rapida: anche se le istruzioni non sono proprio chiarissime, si impara subito ad usare. Dall'accensione all'erogazione del caffe passano neanche 2 minuti.- Sapore del caffè (ho precisato prima che non sono uno scienziato del caffe e l'opinione seguente è completamente soggettiva): per me il caffe più buono è quello della frog a cialde, super cremoso e denso ma non troppo carico, subito dopo viene la moka, poi quello macinato preparato dalle macchine manuali con braccetto e solo infine il caffè da bar, per me troppo stretto e forte. Questa macchina manuale si inserisce tra la frog e la moka, quindi al secondo posto, con però il vantaggio economico e ambientale, di non usare le cialde. Anche se è un caffe poco denso e cremoso, ha però un gusto delicato ma deciso, che inoltre può essere regolato a piacimento.- Il montalatte: mai usato un montalatte cosi efficace, in 20 secondi si ha una schiuma eccezionale.Contro, relativamente alle macchine manuali o alla moka:- Manutenzioni frequenti: è una cosa comune di tutte le automatiche, ci sono da fare manutenzioni settimanali, e altre mensili e altre ogni 2 3 mesi, altrimenti la macchina puo rompersi…che ansia! Le manutenzioni non sono difficili e lunghe, ma per effettuarle sono necessari, oltre al tempo, anche dei prodotti per le manutenzioni mensili.- Consumo di acqua: ogni volta che si accende e si spegne fa un lavaggio con acqua pulita, e quindi consumo di acqua del serbatoio, il che porta a far finire il serbatoio dell'acqua molto presto (io lo devo riempire ogni 2 giorni, invece con quella manuale a braccetto la riempivo meno di una volta a settimana). Ovviamente non è una tragedia dato che è molto semplice da sfilare e riempire. Per evitare di riempire subito anche il cassetto di scolo (ancora meno capiente del serbatoio) vi consiglio di lasciare una tazza sotto l'erogatore appena dopo aver usato la macchina.Contro:- Serbatoio dell'acqua e dei fondi poco capienti: il serbatio nominalmente è 1,8L ma non si può riempire fino al colmo, inoltre va inserito un decalcificatore all'interno molto voluminoso e infine la spia del cambio acqua (con il blocco dell'erogazione) parte già quando rimangono 2 dita dal fondo del serbatoio, questo comporta che la reale quantità di acqua che la macchina usa tra un refill e un altro, penso sia di 1,3/1,4L. Questa cosa combinata all'elevato consumo di acqua ogni accensione, vi porterà a fare refill molto frequentemente. Anche il contenitore dei fondi mi sembra molto piccolo, conterrà una ventina di caffe, cosicché si deve svuotare relativamente spesso. Come detto prima però, in entrambi i casi niente di tragico, il refill e lo svuotamento dei fondi è molto molto semplice e rapido.- Contenitore chicchi caffe piccolo: anche questo contenitore è piccolo, e va riempito frequentemente. Anche in questo caso, nulla di tragico dato che si deve sollevare solo un coperchio.- Non fa 2 caffe contemporaneamente: l'erogatore ha 2 rubinetti separati, ma l'impostazione "2 espresso" o "2 caffe" non permette di fare 2 caffe contemporaneamente, ma uno dopo l'altro, quindi ci impiega più tempo. Se proprio si va di fretta, si imposta la macchina ad 1 espresso al massimo della intensità e lunghezza e si mettono 2 tazzine. Il caffe verrà leggermente piu lungo, ma se regolata bene la macchina, sarà comunque buono.- Tenere sempre a portata di mano il libretto delle istruzioni: questo perche ci sono sia diverse regolazioni (es temperatura del caffe) sia le varie manutenzioni a scadenza mensile, che per i primi mesi non ci ricorderemo a memoria, quindi va sfogliato spesso il libretto di istruzioni, soprattutto all'inizio che vorremo calibrare la macchina secondo i nostri gusti.- Regolazione macinatura poco pratica: è scomoda da effettuare, oltre che va effettuata solo durante la macinazione dei chicchi e di un livello alla volta, altrimenti può danneggiarsi!!! Questa cosa sta scritto in un paragrafetto delle istruzioni. Inoltre il cambiamento inizia a sentirsi dopo 10 caffè.Si capisce che sono contro quasi insignificanti, forse dovuti al fatto che la macchina è relativamente compatta, quindi per me sono più che giustificati.In conclusione: funziona bene, fa un buon caffè, velocizza le routine quotidiane (anche se ne aggiunge altre settimanali/mensili, ovvero le manutenzioni), è simpatica da provare con le varie regolazioni, fa un ottimo cappuccino. Rispetto ad altre automatiche, sulla carta (non avendone provate altre) è più bella esteticamente, più compatta e più economica.L'unica cosa che mi preoccupa è la tenuta a lungo termine, date le varie parti meccaniche in gioco. Mi sono pentito di non aver acquistato una garanzia aggiuntiva.

I've had this machine for 6 months now. I use it constantly and love everything about it except for one thing-- the intermittent "no water" errors, no matter the actual level of water in the tank. Sometimes it works right, sometimes not. At first I thought it was something I was doing wrong, but after cleanings and new filters I've decided it is just the one very annoying quirk of the machine.Other than that, once the grinder is set correctly to your preference, it's a very nice programmable espresso maker. I appreciate the ability to use pre-ground coffee as well, since I usually choose to use decaff beans in the grinder for after my morning jolt of "leaded" preground coffee. It's fairly easy to take apart for cleaning as well.If it wasn't for the water level errors, I would have given it a 5 stars.

Received this as a gift and I love it. Fresh ground coffee by the cup. It makes great coffee.The unit is larger than most coffee makers, but fits well under the cupboard.Pros: make great coffee.Cons: has a few quirks, but watching a YouTube or two you can figure out out. Makes noise at startup and while grinding the beans, so if you need to brew in silence... This is not the one for you. Seems sturdy and self cleaning... Maintenance is simple.

The media could not be loaded. Hace tiempo que nos queríamos deshacer de la cafetera de cápsulas por varios motivos: contaminación, precio....Hemos estado una temporada informándonos sobre las diferentes marcas de cafeteras, características y prestaciones de cada una de ellas. Estábamos entre 2 marcas, para nosotros las mejores, y nos hemos decantado por esta principalmente porque es un modelo que ha salido este año, por tener molinillo automatico y por ser éste cerámico (es resto de cafeteras que ronda este precio no lo tiene) lo que alarga la vida a la cafetera, por su diseño y porque Philips es una gran marca de cafeteras.Económicamente sale más barato este tipo de cafeteras que las de cápsulas, nosotros nos tomamos al día unos 3 cafés cada uno y era una ruina. Si no eres muy cafetero desde luego está máquina no merece la pena.La máquina es automática. Te avisa con un piloto cuando le hace falta agua, cuando falta café, cuando hay que vaciar el depósito de agua y café, cuando hay que descalcificarla....Viene con una tira para ver la dureza del agua y programarla segun sea de dura para un rendimiento óptimo. Se recomienda agua del grifo y el filtro aquaclean. Viene con un filtro y en teoría sirve para unas 5000 tazas de café según fabricante.En las instrucciones comenta que cada 2 meses hay que limpiar bajo el grifo el molinillo y engrasarlo para alargar la vida del aparato, limpiarlo bajo el grifo cada semana más o menos (muy sencillo de hacer), desengrasar los conductos los cada mes ( también muy sencillito). Además cuando lo necesita te avisa para descalcificarla.Que tenga molinillo integrado es una pasada, no tiene precio tomarte en menos de un minuto un café recién molido dándole únicamente a un botón. El café sale con espuma y delicioso, no tiene nada que ver con las cápsulas, esto de verdad es café. Puedes elegir la intensidad del café, lo largo que lo quieres, si quieres expreso o americano y dentro de donde se ponen los granos puedes elegir 12 grados de molido del café a través de una rueda. Si alguien quiere un descafeinado, no hay problema ya que tienen un depósito para preparar café molido.El sistema de calentar la leche es una pasada, en pocos segundos tienen la leche caliente y con una espuma increíble.No podemos estar más contentos con haber elegido está cafetera. Si te gusta de verdad el café está sin duda es tu cafetera.

La mia prima automatica, felicissimo di aver fatto il passaggio!
Premetto che non sono uno scienziato del caffè, ho letto altri recensioni di acquirenti molto più tecniche che mi sono servite a capire meglio come sfruttare la macchina. Inoltre sono un attento consumatore di caffè (non meno di 2, non più di 4 al giorno), ma non un vero amante del suo sapore. Diciamo che vedo più il caffe da un punto di vista di un integratore che come una bevanda da sorseggiare (oltre alla caffeina, il caffe contiene molte sostanze benefiche), ma ovviamente anche io sono attento al discorso del buon gusto, anche se gioca una parte molto meno importante nelle mie valutazioni. Inoltre è la prima macchina automatica che uso, fin'ora solo moka e macchina con braccetto e caffe in polvere o cialde.Fatta questa premessa, vi elenco brevemente pro e contro:Pro:- esteticamente bella e tra le automatiche più compatte: uno dei motivi per cui l ho scelta, dato che sarà sempre a vista nella mia cucina. Per l'ingombro ci tengo a far notare che le macchine non automatiche, quelle con il braccetto, seppure piu piccole di dimensioni, sono ugualmente ingombranti dato che necessitano dello spazio per gli accessori e per le cialde. Ovviamente rispetto a una moka non c è storia. Ci tengo sempre sotto una tazza color nero opaco che si integra bene con il design, cosi da renderla pure piu pratica da usare, come spiegherò dopo.- Economica: essendo la mia prima macchina automatica, l'altro motivo per cui l ho scelta è che era la piu economica con buone recensioni (l ho presa durante il black Friday a 260€). Anche rispetto alle manuali a braccetto, se si considerano i prezzi di tutti gli accessori spesso venduti a parte, il prezzo non è tanto alto. Inoltre caffe in polvere e cialde / capsule, sono piu costosi del caffe in chicci, quini alla lunga il prezzo si ammortizza.- Semplice e rapida: anche se le istruzioni non sono proprio chiarissime, si impara subito ad usare. Dall'accensione all'erogazione del caffe passano neanche 2 minuti.- Sapore del caffè (ho precisato prima che non sono uno scienziato del caffe e l'opinione seguente è completamente soggettiva): per me il caffe più buono è quello della frog a cialde, super cremoso e denso ma non troppo carico, subito dopo viene la moka, poi quello macinato preparato dalle macchine manuali con braccetto e solo infine il caffè da bar, per me troppo stretto e forte. Questa macchina manuale si inserisce tra la frog e la moka, quindi al secondo posto, con però il vantaggio economico e ambientale, di non usare le cialde. Anche se è un caffe poco denso e cremoso, ha però un gusto delicato ma deciso, che inoltre può essere regolato a piacimento.- Il montalatte: mai usato un montalatte cosi efficace, in 20 secondi si ha una schiuma eccezionale.Contro, relativamente alle macchine manuali o alla moka:- Manutenzioni frequenti: è una cosa comune di tutte le automatiche, ci sono da fare manutenzioni settimanali, e altre mensili e altre ogni 2 3 mesi, altrimenti la macchina puo rompersi…che ansia! Le manutenzioni non sono difficili e lunghe, ma per effettuarle sono necessari, oltre al tempo, anche dei prodotti per le manutenzioni mensili.- Consumo di acqua: ogni volta che si accende e si spegne fa un lavaggio con acqua pulita, e quindi consumo di acqua del serbatoio, il che porta a far finire il serbatoio dell'acqua molto presto (io lo devo riempire ogni 2 giorni, invece con quella manuale a braccetto la riempivo meno di una volta a settimana). Ovviamente non è una tragedia dato che è molto semplice da sfilare e riempire. Per evitare di riempire subito anche il cassetto di scolo (ancora meno capiente del serbatoio) vi consiglio di lasciare una tazza sotto l'erogatore appena dopo aver usato la macchina.Contro:- Serbatoio dell'acqua e dei fondi poco capienti: il serbatio nominalmente è 1,8L ma non si può riempire fino al colmo, inoltre va inserito un decalcificatore all'interno molto voluminoso e infine la spia del cambio acqua (con il blocco dell'erogazione) parte già quando rimangono 2 dita dal fondo del serbatoio, questo comporta che la reale quantità di acqua che la macchina usa tra un refill e un altro, penso sia di 1,3/1,4L. Questa cosa combinata all'elevato consumo di acqua ogni accensione, vi porterà a fare refill molto frequentemente. Anche il contenitore dei fondi mi sembra molto piccolo, conterrà una ventina di caffe, cosicché si deve svuotare relativamente spesso. Come detto prima però, in entrambi i casi niente di tragico, il refill e lo svuotamento dei fondi è molto molto semplice e rapido.- Contenitore chicchi caffe piccolo: anche questo contenitore è piccolo, e va riempito frequentemente. Anche in questo caso, nulla di tragico dato che si deve sollevare solo un coperchio.- Non fa 2 caffe contemporaneamente: l'erogatore ha 2 rubinetti separati, ma l'impostazione "2 espresso" o "2 caffe" non permette di fare 2 caffe contemporaneamente, ma uno dopo l'altro, quindi ci impiega più tempo. Se proprio si va di fretta, si imposta la macchina ad 1 espresso al massimo della intensità e lunghezza e si mettono 2 tazzine. Il caffe verrà leggermente piu lungo, ma se regolata bene la macchina, sarà comunque buono.- Tenere sempre a portata di mano il libretto delle istruzioni: questo perche ci sono sia diverse regolazioni (es temperatura del caffe) sia le varie manutenzioni a scadenza mensile, che per i primi mesi non ci ricorderemo a memoria, quindi va sfogliato spesso il libretto di istruzioni, soprattutto all'inizio che vorremo calibrare la macchina secondo i nostri gusti.- Regolazione macinatura poco pratica: è scomoda da effettuare, oltre che va effettuata solo durante la macinazione dei chicchi e di un livello alla volta, altrimenti può danneggiarsi!!! Questa cosa sta scritto in un paragrafetto delle istruzioni. Inoltre il cambiamento inizia a sentirsi dopo 10 caffè.Si capisce che sono contro quasi insignificanti, forse dovuti al fatto che la macchina è relativamente compatta, quindi per me sono più che giustificati.In conclusione: funziona bene, fa un buon caffè, velocizza le routine quotidiane (anche se ne aggiunge altre settimanali/mensili, ovvero le manutenzioni), è simpatica da provare con le varie regolazioni, fa un ottimo cappuccino. Rispetto ad altre automatiche, sulla carta (non avendone provate altre) è più bella esteticamente, più compatta e più economica.L'unica cosa che mi preoccupa è la tenuta a lungo termine, date le varie parti meccaniche in gioco. Mi sono pentito di non aver acquistato una garanzia aggiuntiva.
