ETA: make sure you put your car into maintenance/service mode via either appropriate diagnostic tool or manually and follow ALL instructions precisely as specified per BG.I purchased an immaculately cared for and maintained HiHy in 11/2020. I’ve done and did quite a bit of research prior and is still ongoing process. Moreover, I read about some Toyota’s experiencing sludge issues and though I didn’t have any, I did notice that when I opened the cap for where the oil is poured into, there was dark residue buildup. It had me slightly worried. It wasn’t soft but was hardened to the point that I was unable to scrape it off. My oil looked great and always been changed per maintenance schedule per records. I also changed my oil and filter for my first time ever lol! Bad experience at dealership and I made a decision that I want to do as much automotive repair and maintenance myself that I am able.During my research I also discovered the Torque News informational review for this BG treatment set and subsequent follow up progress article and I was intrigued by the positive beneficial results obtained by my sister car the Prius!So after more reading on BG products and other sites and reviews, I decided to try it albeit nervously because I do not necessarily like to go against the manufacturer’s specifications. But I also consider the fact that the manufacturer has an incentive to promote and/or force the use of their dealerships upon us.Anyways, only a month prior to using these products, I had some preventative service maintenance performed at the dealership along with routine procedures including full synthetic oil and oil filter change. The oil still looked new obviously, and I was worried when I checked it because I forgot to specify that I wanted a synthetic oil change but it appeared that’s what they used regardless. I didn’t like the fact that I was choosing to waste an oil change by doing it again so soon but I was planning for traveling with my vehicle for an extended length and duration in the upcoming near future.I performed each bottle of the treatment per the instructions and even did a brief internet search prior just to confirm there were not any instructions omitted as this is a professional use only product.So I performed the engine treatment 44K and did my best to estimate the rpm’s given that I do not have an rpm meter but only a kw meter on the dash panel for my hybrid battery, nor do I own a quality scan tool or diagnostic tool for complete accuracy of this step. But having driven various makes and models of vehicles, manual and automatic, over my 20+ years of driving, I went by feeling and hearing lol not quite the scientific method approach ;)Anyways, upon draining my oil I inferred that the engine treatment was successful due to it being super dark brown compared to the translucent new synthetic that I had just previously inspected! I was shocked to say the least and kinda worried that I might have done something wrong at this point never having done anything like this before except check my fluids lol!So, I drained and replaced my oil and filter and added the oil treatment bottle per directions and since I only had half a tank of fuel, I added the fuel treatment also and subsequently filled up my gas tank the following day to maximize the duration of the treatment and refueled for the next several times at or just below the halfway point. I’m not sure if this ultimately diluted the treatment or extended it at an adequate concentration lolEither way, my engine is so much QUIETER!!! And the startup of my ICE is a most smooth transition with almost imperceptible idling!!!I forgot to mention that when I purchased my vehicle in 11/2020 it had just under 110K miles and as of today it’s at a few hundred over 114K miles. It was just over 112K when I performed these treatments so I can’t fully comment on the 5000K miles commenced that Torque News referenced.But I have had an improved fuel economy of 2-3 mpg on average. I have to average it because I’ve had to disconnect my 12V battery several times (and manually retrain the ICS per Toyota protocol without their diagnostic tool) since then and everything gets reset and a few of my fuel refills didn’t print my receipts at the pump and I chose to not go inside for various reasons, so my manual calculations are averages and compared with my vehicle computerized fuel consumption stats.Additionally, I did not have evidence of an oil leak prior to this treatment per ALL of Toyota service records (one previous owner whom took to Toyota Dealerships for the years they owned it) prior to my ownership of vehicle nor any codes ever recorded and I also have same experience in my limited ownership.Overall, I’m ecstatic and impressed with the BG products and will continue to use them for preventative maintenance as suggested per their recommendations because this was successful in what I aimed to achieve so far on every level I was seeking and every claim BG made for my purposes.

We noticed my Prius was burning a ton of oil, I guess this is a thing for the older models. My husband read that this product helps with that issue and sure enough it does. We used it a few years ago and it solved the problem. Then about a month ago my car started burning oil again. You are suppose to use it every six months. But it helped for two years before needing to use it again!

Was burning 1/3 quart after 750 miles on 2013 Prius. No more oil required after 2.5k miles so far. Just follow instructions and change oil after running engine for 10 minutes in maintenance mode. It definitely cleaned the piston rings.Update after 4k miles, need to add oil after 750 miles again. Gonna give it one more try on next oil change to see if oil loss get resolve.

My 2011 Prius was burning a lot of oil. I had to add several quarts between changes, and even doing that there was none showing on the dipstick when it was changed several times. I used this product (or group of 3 products) as recommended, and when I checked the oil level after 1000 miles, the dipstick registers full still. I would have been 1.5 quarts down by now before using this. Good stuff!!

I recently bought a 2008 toyota prius (153k miles) with excessive oil burning engine and started to make researches on prius owner blogs online to fix the issue. Short after, I found out that I need new spark plugs, new pcv valve, throttle body cleaner, seafoam spray and this product. I did all of them in this order and it worked great! I would say bg product was one of the most important thing you need if you have a prius that burns a lot of oil (1 qt every 500 miles). I went to a quick lube in toyota dealer to use this product (since you need to change oil immediately) and already make 1000 miles and 0 oil consumption. I highly recommend if you’re tired of keep adding oil to your prius. There are a lot of videos on youtube to use all the products that I mentioned. I believe this should work every hybrid car with same issue, it is definitely worth giving a try at least.

I used this on a 2009 Prius with about 190k miles. I was used to adding 1 to 2 quarts of oil per week. Well, it has been two weeks with my wife driving alot for work and it hasn't used a drop of oil so far. Worth every penny, especially considering how much a quarter of oil costs now.
