This piece definitely does work as a replacement but has a few design features that ruin the overall quality.First off, I'll say that the backlights and window lock toggle light all work.The thing I dislike most is the small bump under the button.The icons are sloppyThe chrome trim is polished on this part where the original parts have a matte finish.In my attached photos, the stock part is on the left with this item on the right.

Another reviewer states his didn’t light up the window “off” button. Mine lights up exactly how the OEM switch did. They all light up and look exactly the same as OWM. One touch down and up both work the same as well.Installation took me about 45 minutes. Buy a door/trim tool kit! It’ll help you pop the panel off. Yanking on it like you’ll see in videos will work, but you’ll have a chance of messing up the plugs that hold it in place. Make sure you look at things after the panel is off. One of mine popped off incorrectly and I had to remove it from the door itself and slide it back into the panel. The trim tools will help you pop them all out correctly.I also suggest having something like a bucket to rest the panel on while you’re trying to unplug everything. You don’t want there to be tension on the wiring harnesses as they could break.Take your time, watch a couple of videos, have the right tools, and you’ll be fine. Much, much cheaper than paying a shop to do this.In my original switch, I had to press the driver window button 4-5 times to get it to go down. It was driving me nuts. Now it’s all fixed!

This was such a simple switch even if you aren't handy. The tools you need are minimal and the work is pretty easy. It took me watching a youtube video once and that was enough to understand the repair. The door is held by two screws and a bolt and I even had my son help me with the job. Entire repair took 1 hour (including gathering tools and clean up). I think the part even works better than the original!

This fit my 2017 Golf R perfectly. It is slightly different from the OEM one. As another reviewer mentioned, the icons are a bit off from the original, and the biggest issue is that the window lock button doesn't have a light on it like the original. My original one lit up orange when the window locks were on. This does nothing. I never use the lock so its not a big deal but I docked a star because of these differences.

Works in a pinch
Works, but not amazingly. Feels cheap vs oem, but in a pinch it'll do
Window Lock button doesn’t work.
Product fits good and looks good. But back windows button lock doesn’t work !
Broken in 2 weeks
Installed the switch and after 2 weeks the automatic switch is already broken for both front windows overall build quality is very cheap wouldn’t recommend purchasing.
