They make shaving take much less effort than the single-edge blades and even the three-blade models. When I first tried a Gillette Mach 3 back when it first came out, I thought it was the best razor possible, but these came later and are far better.Don't let anyone sell you on the old single blades, safety razors, or whatever. Those blades work good for maybe 3-6 shaves and start to get noticeably dull, scratchy, and cutty. These five-blade Schicks last me 25-30 shaves before I notice it taking more effort to get a good shave and change them out for a new one. If you go gently, like sweeping a floor with a broom, gentle is better and more efficient, same here, these razors shave as well as any you can get.Really good product, and the lube strip helps (it's almost too gooey when new), but for the money, all the shaving clubs, old-time single edges, razors that use three old-time single-edges, and blah blah blah, all that considered, these razors are as good as you can do for a good, blood-free shave for a good price. Just use good shave cream, nice warm water, go easy, and your face will be baby-butt smooth. The ladies like that.

My husband and son both really like these razors. I buy them in bulk because price is better, and with both using them, I don't want the chance of suddenly none being here for them! They are sharp don't pull on the skin. The guys are satisfied with them.

The original Hydro 5 has always been one of my favorites - smoother than Gillette and affordable too. But when I got these recently, I was dismayed that Bolo had sent the “Sensitive” model instead. I started a return and asked them to send them again and guess what? Another shipment of “Sensitive.” On a hunch I looked at the bar codes and the “Sensitive” razors have the exact same UPC as the original. So I opened the package and the razors are literally identical as you can see in the photo and very different from the cartridge “Sensitive” model. I went to Schick’s website and confirmed that the “sensitive” disposable looks just like the original. I have no idea why Schick changed the name of these, but they are definitely the original “Ultimate Comfort” model.
