It loads fast, and plays with no problem at all. The sound quality is very good. Unit looks nice. Remote works but the finish of the remote is black plastic and does not have the sophisticated look of the unit. In my opinion the finish on the remote should have been the same as the beautiful finish on the front of the unit. The display is fine but could be larger. Contrary to some reviews the tray opens and closes smoothly. The unit has a simple but sleek and elegant look. This is the second unit I have purchased. The first was a famous brand and actually had more features than this unit but it had all kinds of popping sounds and momentary distortion in different tracks of a cd and I mean pristine cd's. This was right out of the box. I sent it back and decided not to order another one. Then I chose the Cambridge and so far so good.

My first choice will Always be vinyl! Analog over digital forever! But I have a large amount of cd’s that are still not yet available on vinyl. I have to say that since getting this cd player, I am Thoroughly enjoying those cds more than I Ever did! This thing sounds Amazing! Darn close to Analog sound thanks too the great built-in DAC. My friends didn’t even know I had switched from vinyl to cd when I played it. I had this on my wish list for over two years and I’m SO glad I finally took the plunge. It matches up great with my system, both in appearance and sound and performs Flawlessly. It has played every single cd I threw at it, no matter the condition. It’s Every bit as good as the reviews say. Expensive! But well worth the money, especially considering the cheap equipment being made these days. I’m overwhelmed with joy. Highly recommend this player

I bought this CD player after doing a considerable amount of research. I run a 45 year old system I bought while stationed in Japan. This CD player replaced a Pioneer CD player I've had since they first started coming out in 1985. Still working but the door started having a mind of it's own. This Cambridge Audio player has a great internal DAC which I have to assume is a huge upgrade over whatever Pioneer had in 1985. I thought buying a Hi-fi system was complicated in 1979 but these days, damn. The digital circus is downright confusing. Every review I read had this CD player at the top of the list in its price range. Looks great and sounds even better. The remote is a bit much as it's made for various systems so there's lots of unnecessary buttons but has what is needed. Easy setup. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of higher prices players, it has all I really wanted, a good internal DAC which produces great sound quality. Now if it only lasts as long as the one it replaced,35 years, I won't care, cause I won't be here. peace

I bought this player because I love opera, and inexpensive disk players often have gaps when playing CDs or disks that have been burned with mp3 files. It's a superb machine, with very simple setup and operation, it looks sleek, and it sounds wonderful! I often purchase operas on CD or mp3 downloads, and when I burn the mp3 files to disk I get a gorgeous sound! Many of my operas are older recordings from the 1950s, and with this disk player these older recordings sound like they were recorded today. The player is expensive, sure, especially if you are using an inexpensive DVD player for your CDs. However, if great orchestral sound and vocals are important to you, then you get what you pay for, and this Cambridge Audio player is a perfect addition to a quality sound system.

I had original written a poor review for this player, I had bought it to replace a Denon unit that died. My original review noted the poor sound quality of the unit, what I didn't realize at the time was that when I was trying to determine what was wrong with my system i had checked my speaker connections but didn't realize I rewired them out of phase. Once I corrected this stupid mistake the unit sounds very good, the only real complaint I have with this unit is as others mentioned the inability to stop a cd and start it again later at the same spot, not a huge issue but it is a feature I've had on every cd (or dvd player) I've owned.

Been enjoying this with a vintage Technics receiver and have no complaints. great with classical, pop and rock CDs.... nice open sound that immerses you in the experience. Worth every cent.

I read that this machine does one thing well: play audio CDs. Make that zero things. It skips on many if not most CDs. I put the same disc in my crappy sounding $29 Phillips DVD/CD player and it plays without even a hiccup. Put same CD back in the Cambridge and it keeps skipping. The unit sounds good, but that makes no difference when it can’t read a BRAND NEW disc just taken out of the cellophane without skipping. I wish I would have paid more attention to the one star reviews, but I thought they were a reputable company that would figure out why so many of their new CD players can’t read CDs. Turns out not to be the case. I get the feeling that the one I just sent back is going to some other unsuspecting customer. This player’s DACs sound very good, but no matter; it is incapable of doing job #1: reading the freaking disc.

I have 6 cd players, the most expensive one costing $2500. However, that one was from 2004 and a lot has changed in audio science since then. The Cambridge is totally engaging. The detail and air is great and the bass is abundantly present when in the recording. It comes with a small power cord and you have to experiment with the polarity to find the right way to put it the cd player. The method I use is listening to the bass. If the polarity is wrong on the power cable, the bass will be less discernable and present. I am so pleased at the price for what you get. If I heard it without knowing the price, I'd say it's a $2000 player. Of course, it also helps to have a good power filter, interconnects, and amp (headphone amp in my case).

Fabulous CD Player!
I have been a Cambridge Audio fan for many years and have never been disappointed! I recently decided to upgrade to the Cambridge Audio AXC35 CD Player, and am enjoying all my CD'S all over again. I use the digital output into the Cambridge CA60 integrated amp to use it's DAC. It's all paradise and I use a FosPower Digital cable. A special thanks to Ayreborn Audio Video in Surrey, BC who handled the sale for Bolo. The product arrived in perfect condition thanks to Ayreborn!

El mejor reproductor de CD en la categoría de su precio. Bastante claridad, distinción entre los sonidos. Agudos no chillantes ni bajos molestos. Buen balance. Bueno para música clásica, en especial si se complementa con pre y amp de bulbos.. Para subir de categoría solo pasar a lectores y cd de Superaudio, 40% o más arriba de este precio.
