We have gone through about 8 different door locks at the company on various restricted areas.Most of them fail because either the finger Print reader goes bad or something mechanical breaks inside the lock.The other issue is that the more active features the Lock has like Wifi, Bluetooth and a Finger Print reader eat the batteries down really fast. Especially a Wifi or Bluetooth. which seem to eat batteries in 3 months.What caught my eye with this lock is the 3 Year battery life and them claiming it's commercial quality.I can tell you that this one is almost all metal, only the Inside battery cover is plastic.After using it for 2 weeks I can say that it does feel like a commercial lock and I suspect the battery life is going to be real good because the lock is completely off until a button is pressed. No finger print scanner running and no Wireless features running 24/7.The lock itself fit in very nicely into the existing cut outs and looks pretty professional.It does not get simpler to use than this lock. Just enter the password and it flashes once and unlocks. It re-locks in about 10 second. I also like that it has a bypass knob on the inside part. That disables the need for a code to open the door, which is great if you are outside and want to go back and forth between the Garden and the house.Overall I would recommend this lock if your looking for durability and ease of use. It is not fancy but it works perfectly as a digital lock.

Wife and I moved to a new home and decided instead of re-keying we would install a new keyless door lock. It was easy for me to install (read the manual!) and easy to use. No more keys (except the emergency ones). Came with two keys. It is so convenient as we can input a code for a house-sitter and then remove it/change it. We can give a code to the kids separate from ours and change it if necessary. Or you can switch it to remain unlocked if you are coming and going from the garage throughout the day.Battery life is at least a year and the noise level is non-existent. Its weatherproof with a nice shiny brushed nickel look and easily grasped lever handles. It also has excellent suport on-line if you have questions. it has paid for itself so much in the convenience it offers. We couldn't be happier!

A great KwickSet Door Lock! Took minutes to install, but didnt work right out of the box. I called tech support, and they suggested replacing the battery. I bought a new battery and POW! It works so great, color is spot on with my Nickel color, easy to open and close, has so many other things it can do, but I just needed the ability to key it with other kets, and have a code to use to open if I didnt have my key. PERFECT! I am going to also get the dead bolt, just to have the extra locking power. It can also be keyed to the lock so a win win for my door!!!!!

This is a literally heavy lock. The outer casing is solid. I believe the Grade 2 BHMA rating.Installation was simple. Programming in the lock codes is a 5 step sequence. Four of the steps are one button pushes. Not hard at all.The look of the lock is stylish. I like it.I hope the battery lasts as long as advertised! 3 years would be amazing. This model uses a 9V battery. The last Kwikset (I think 915, deadbolt model) took 4 AA that only lasted a year at most.Weak point: The battery cover is plastic. While not completely flimsy, it's disappointingly thin compared to the rest of the lock. It's oddly out of place on this product.Function I wish it had: Be able to program the lock to be in Passage Mode for a specified number of hours. Probably no more than 24 hours, but no less than 1. At the end of the specified time it will revert to Auto-lock Mode and lock. This program would be enabled by entering a user defined code on the keypad. Turnpiece would be in the Auto-lock position.Marketing suggestion: One confusing thing that Kwikset can clear up would be the difference between the 917 (residential) and 955 (commercial) models. These are very similar, if not the same, in looks, features, and pricing. I have not handled the 917, so perhaps the build quality is different, I can't say.

I purchased this because carrying an arm load of groceries & fumbling around in my pocket for keys can be a struggle. This keypad door lock is reasonably easy to install, & use. The project took about 40 minutes to install, & program. As long as this lock fits your door, it is reasonably easy to install and setup.I would buy this again if I need another. I have used this on the kitchen to garage door. It looks much nicer than the old brass doorknob that we had in this door. The mechanism feels heavy, & sturdy, & works perfectly. I would recommend this especially if you have friends, or family that you want to be able to come and go with out having to get a spare key. The code to lock, & unlock the lock, is reprogramable to allow a temporary code for family or a contractor to come and go as needed, & then reset back to your normal lock code for yourself when the guest has left, or contractor, is done and you want to set it back to your original code.

Excelente producto en calidad y servicio. Muy fácil de instalar. Solo quite la anterior y coloque esta sin necesidad de ninguna otra cosa. Solo hay que checar las distancias y orificios que vienen indicados en la guía de instalación para ver que correspondan con las de la chapa que vas a reemplazar. Muy funcional y fácil de programar.
Sturdy, attractive, no regrets!
I was hesitant to purchase this lock as I did not recognize the brand name "Kwikset", only being familiar with the more available brands in stores such as Schlage, Weiser, etc. However, I suspect it might actually be the Schlage Smartcode lock just under a different brand name as it seems identical in all ways. I always research and read reviews and this lock had great ratings so I decided to go for it.It was very easy to install, took about 30 mins. The code programming is really easy to do, too. I installed this on my garage and I find it really quick and easy to access the garage - even in the dark as you can light up the buttons with one tap. It's an attractive lock (I bought the satin nickel finish), sturdy, and the lever handle is handy when your hands are full - they provide two levers, a left and a right version.I happen to have a Weiser brand smart code deadbolt on my front door and I actually prefer this Kwikset Smartcode 955 better. I like the key code being right there by the handle instead of on a separate deadlock higher up on the door like other Smartcode styles, and the price was good, not as expensive as some of the other more known brands. If I ever have to replace the Weiser, I'd buy this Kwikset lock instead. Very happy with it.

Seguro y de mucha utilidad
El armado fue un poco complicado pero debes revisar a super detalle la hoja de instalación ya que, aunque no venga perfectamente detallado, en los dibujos trae el modo correcto de colocar todo. De ahí en fuera me parece excelente. La contraseña es para poder ingresar sin llave; no es para que se combinen ambos métodos. Pero es muy útil. Sólo intenta no colocar números conocidos o teclear a la vista de otros.
