Those that complain that these spools will not self feed in your weed eater are right. I encountered this problem and compared the original spool to this one and it seemed that this spool is almost imperceptibly smaller, as I imagine the channel system that feeds the line is too. My Black & Decker trimmer perceived it though. I messed with it for longer than I care to admit before deciding to just wind the string from this spool onto my original Black & Decker spool. Voila! It worked and all was right in the world again. It's worth the 5 minute investment. These spools are MUCH cheaper than Black & Deckers.

This is the equivalent of the original line included on the trimmer. It is very reasonable for the difference between it and the manufacturer's replacement cost. I haven't had to replace it yet, but I am hopeful about the ability to complete more area trimming with about 1/2 the cost of the original.

These replacement spools work almost as good as the B&D brand but are only about 1/5th the price.I'm very happy with them and have bought them twice in the last 2 years. They cut fine and advance as they should. There is no good reason not to buy them.

I thought my weed eater was toast as the line would continually feed. Upon further inspection, a bit of the spool had shredded which is what kept it from continuously feeding line. Weed eater is working like new again.
