Fits great on my turbo to plug the oil exhaust port. Previous delete required a hose and plastic plug. This plug simplifies the truck for cleaner and less cluttered delete.

My 2020 Subaru Outback had a 14mm head oil drain plug. It was rather soft steel and got rounded out over the course of 6 oil changes. Needed a new plug. This plug has a larger 17mm head which is much better to get a wrench on during removal and installation. Comes with a fiber gasket that some complain about, but I found it to be of excellent functionality. 5 stars for this replacement pug. 100% better than the OEM plug. Should last a good long time before another is needed.

Like others, factory 14 mm head was rounded from overtightening, this replacement has 17 mm head; much better.

I installed this with the included plastic gasket and it leaked immediately after I filled it with oil. I tightened the plug a little more and was able to stop the leak. However, a few weeks later is was leaking again and the plug had loosened. I tightened the plug and was able to stop the leak, but it appears to loosen every 1,000 miles or so. I am now checking it frequently to make sure it does not loosen too much. I will be replacing that cheap plastic gasket with a copper one as soon as I do my next oil change. The plug is fine and I have no problem with that. I have never before had an oil drain plug loosen and I've been doing this for over 50 years. I just don't trust plastic gaskets.

Perfect for 2018 Subaru WRX
This replaces the 16x1.50 OEM drain bolt on a 2018 WRX … as you can see it has a few more threads as well as a 17mm head compared the the Subaru drain plug which has a few less threads and a 14 mm head.Dorman makes quality products and thank you Bolo for the next day delivery on a Sunday when all dealers are closed.As others mentioned , do not use the plastic washer that comes with the plug , use the original quality Subaru aluminum crush washers then torque to 30 ft/ lbs and you’re good to go !
Essential Replacement
This is what the Subaru drain plug should have been like all along. Shame on them for putting a small diameter bolt head that easily strips. Thank you Dorman for the sensible and quality replacement. I would highly recommend this for Subaru Forester owners that do their own oil change.
