Very nice set of hog hair brushes as pictured. Well packed. The item did have a strong smell but I did wash the brushes and it went away. There was some shedding (very minor) and when I used one of them with oil a few hairs came out but they are so course it was easy to pick out of the paint. I’m very happy with this set for oil painting as they are sturdy and are holding up well. The knife is nice quality and sturdy also.

The brushes are very nice. I bought them for my son for Christmas and I was very surprised at the quality. The bristles are extremely soft and clean easily.

I got these brushes for my daughter to help lighten her spirit when her school had to close due to the recent Coronavirus outbreak. When I told her about school, she sobbed all evening and was still so disappointed the following day. She absolutely loves art and has such a beautiful, creative mind. I wanted to do something special for her, so I got her this brush set.She was so excited when these arrived! It was the first time I had seen her smile all week! I appreciate the nice, sturdy storage case these brushes come in, as well as the variety of brushes and painting knife. My daughter loves to play with different materials and texture in her art, so this set was perfect!! The brushes are so easy to clean, and the blotting sponges are absolutely perfect for blotting between color changes and great for helping with brush cleaning as well.I am really impressed with this brush kit! I might get myself one too!

They are well presented , having a little case, but I find the hog hair a little rough. I suppose I will get used to them. They do clean well.

I wasn’t expecting much from this set because everyone said it was a great beginners set. I just knew it was low in price and had a variety of sizes. I really love the biggest brush in the set and I do like the range of sizes.A few bristles had come loose but that’s to be expected. I am pretty rough on my brushes but these have really held up splendidly. I think it’s a great little set with a pretty cool carrying case. I don’t use it much since I don’t travel with my supplies but it would come in handy for someone who does.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Performance and Versatility, Even for Newer Artists
I haven't had mant experiences with brushes of this quality, especially since I'm new(ish) to oil painting. However, I can say that, three days into a large project, they've held up very well. I haven't had any issues with hairs falling out or bending, or the adhesive/grip becoming lose, which I've encountered in the past, and my more experienced oil painter friends complain about.Each brush lays down a smooth texture, which is wonderful. They blend very well, which has always been the scariest thing as an amateur/intermediate artist. I'm working on an 18×24 piece with these brushes at the moment, and the brush sizes are just perfect to get a wide range of coverage but also include smaller details to help bring the piece along. After every wash, the bristles jump right back to their original place.I'm very happy with them, and I'm hopeful that they'll be with me for awhile yet. I'd probably even order this set again, if I need a new set. If I had more friends getting into painting, I would highly recommend these. They've been fantastic.

These brushes came with a protective gummy coating which I dutifully washed off with "The Master's" brush cleaner and preserver, letting them dry several days before using them. They did not shed more than normal through washing them, however when I started using them the bristles started coming out. Then after using Sennelier nontoxic plant based paint thinner to clean them while painting the brushes lost about a third of their bristles. These brushes are very poorly made and caused nothing but aggravation when trying to wet on wet oil paint with them.

I use these brushes with acrylics and I'm quite happy with them. For the quality and selection, it's a good price. I've found the brushes don't tend to shed. I've had maybe a few fibers from the odd brush shed after doing several paintings. Comes in a nice carrying case. If your a beginner interesting in painting I would recommend this brush set.
