This chocolate was obviously exposed to extreme heat and the quality has been compromised. I had the same situation occur when I ordered directly from Alter Eco, only the heat had been to one side of the boxes (as the shipping box may have sat in the sun with the top getting the worst heat) and in that case, more of the truffles were fine and only some affected. These are terrible throughout the box, and since food items are "non-returnable" the buyer must absorb the (considerable) cost. DO NOT BUY AT THIS TIME OF YEAR.

Although these melt super easily in transit and it's a veritable Greek tragedy when they arrive that way (but Alter Eco promptly takes care of it if that should happen to you), I've finally been able to taste these, and they've really outdone themselves with these new Super Dark truffles. As a longtime Alter Eco fan and lover of all of their amazing truffles, these are in a league of their own. Barely any sweetness/sugar to speak of, deliciously intense cacao flavor, rich and decadent and thoroughly satisfying... man, oh man, these things are dangerous to have around, but at least you won't have to worry too much about them being horrifically unhealthy.My only gripe is that they run out too quickly! Waiting for a further nationwide rollout so I can buy them without fretting over it in summer temps. They're that addictive.

I have ordered these a few times. They are my favorite flavor - very dark, not sweet but not too bitter either. Some deliveries were perfect, some came a bit melted and others seemed like the chocolate had already gone through several melting cycles or was just old. Bolo stopped offering these truffles for Subscribe and Save, which was convenient to just set and forget.

These SuperDark truffles are decent.They're a tad too sweet, yet that's subjective.Seriously over-priced at WF.The very high price limits this to a one time buy.At this price, they need to hit a home run & they taste a tad too cheap.
