5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful, portable and great lens
I am sort of addicted to trying to find good and affordable binocs (they get a lot of use by me and my kids). These have been great and I have purchased multiple pairs as gifts for others who are traveling.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great
Got these for bird watching. They are amazing easy to use great adjustments for up close and afar. Recommended for nature viewing 100%. Also would work great for hunters sreaching the area around them. Great optics.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good for kids
My 9 year old autistic son is interested in birds, so he uses these to look at them.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great binoculars for the price
These are very good binoculars for the price. I just wanted some small binoculars to keep with me in the car and take to concerts and what not. Here are some photos I took with my phone's camera held up to the eye piece. Very impressive. I had to add an arrow to the pictures that weren't taken through the binoculars to even see what is zoomed in on.
3.0 out of 5 stars gift
not happy with the quality
5.0 out of 5 stars Great
Perfect
The specs lie, but this is a great buy
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Okay, so here's my quasi scientific, slightly shaky review. I was motivated to write this because these are seriously a great buy, but the 10x mag seems to be a fantasy. My method was to focus on the church and then put my phone camera to the eyepiece and try to hold it all steady. I think the photos do a reasonable job of indicating magnification, field of view, and general image brightness/sharpness. But don't get hung up on blur etc towards the edges as this is more a factor of me trying to align and hold the camera to the eyepiece. I tried to centre on the rain spout. Hopefully the full size images, including my reference codes, will be displayed when you click on them. The Hontry (Hontry 10x25) is compact, light, quick to focus and easy to do so with one finger, and provides a bright, colourful image. I'd say it's mag factor is closer to 8 (compare with the Hawke 8x25 - H 8x25 photo). It may even be slightly less than 8 (judging by eye). I've had the Hawke several years now and I think they were something like 5x the price. The focusing is also a tad stiff, making it a little awkward to do so with one hand. I had a couple of old 10x mag binoculars to hand: my ancient Chinon 10x50 (AC 10x50 photo) and my dad's old, little Vivitar (OV 10x25 photo). These are good comparisons showing the Hontry seems nowhere near the 10x mag. My ancient Chinon is a beast. Honestly, it's the last thing you'd want dangling from your neck whilst out walking. The old Vivitar is small and light but the image is, frankly, somewhat blurry and dull.I bought my first of these Hontrys to let my 2.5 year old son play with because he'd discovered my dad's old Vivitar and wouldn't put it down. But I found the Hontry image so bright and clear that I've let my son keep playing with the Vivitar! Yes, the 10x claim seems utter fabrication, but for bird and wildlife watching out on the move, and something that you can easily slip in a pocket, it's great. Bear in mind magnification is useless if an image is blurry. I first bought two; one for my son and one for my elderly mum. As I've said, I ended up "keeping" the Hontry for myself. I think at around £20 each, they're a steal. Soon after I managed to pick up another for around £19. At these prices, for something around 8x mag that's easy to carry and provides bright, sharp images, this is seriously a great commodity binocular that you can take anywhere and aren't afraid to. Keep one in the car glovebox, in the shed, at your mistress's...
