I was constantly experiencing getting water piling up to my ankles with each shower. I installed this device and it fit my late era 40s-50s year old bathtub, though I think the crosspieces where you would screw a regular drain cover were a little higher than what might be expected. But I put the device in and it stood up a little higher. My very first shower was a dream come true with the water draining perfectly! And after a few showers when I pulled this device out, sure enough, loose hairs were wrapped around the cylinder as described in their ad. Totally effective! I highly recommend getting this device if you suffer from clogging drains from loose hair collecting on the drain cover!

This thing is fantastic. Don't overthink it. Just get it.My wife has amazing hair. But the price you pay for that is clogged shower drains. This last time that the pipe clogged up, it was especially bad. I pulled out three full pipe clog bundles of hair before I had the water draining properly again. So in an attempt to never have to do that again, I came here and bought this.Best. Decision. Ever.Our house has two tub shower combos, with the little drain covers that screw into a cross piece. So you unscrew the drain cover, and then use a hacksaw or jigsaw or whatever you've got to cut out the cross piece. This really isn't that hard. All you will need is some kind of very small (narrow blade) metal saw that you can get into the space, and then a metal file to shave the nub smooth. You can grab a metal file for a couple bucks at harbor freight if you don't have one. You can grab a hacksaw from any Home Improvement store for a couple bucks if you don't have one. You should probably have those things in your garage anyway. So now you will. The tub shroom slides down into the drain, and it has a little silicone gasket that stretches little arms out to the edges of the drain (it comes with a bunch of interchangeable sizes, so you'll be good). The bottom line is that it allows water to get through, but it catches anything else. At the point where water is no longer draining as fast as it should, you pull the tub shroom out, pull off all the gunked up hair from around its little silicone catching arms, throw that mess away, and slide the tub mushroom right back into the drain.I honestly did not realize how much hair was making it into our drains until I pulled this thing out after only one of my wife's showers. I will now install one of these on every shower drain in every house that I ever live in for the rest of my life.

If you are bothering to read reviews, stop and just buy it! This thing is amazing!!With a household full of longish to long hair, we were always standing in dirty water while showering. It was disgusting. Snakes, chemicals and other methods kept cleaning it out temporarily, but it always clogged back up again. This thing is truly amazing. The water flows down the drain like there is nothing there.In our household, the shroom needs to be cleaned once a week, which will vary per user. It is quite disgusting to clean but WOW--you wouldn't believe what you were sending down the pipes.Yes you need to remove the tub stopper which is very easy and insert this, but is makes such a difference you won't care. It comes with a rubber stopper so you can have a bath, all you need to do is pull the shroom out and insert the plug...so easy!I have since purchased a variation for the bathroom sink where everyone does their hair. This should just come standard in all sinks.

The tub shroom does a good job of preventing hair from going down the drain. If the person showering looses a lot of hair while showering, the tub shroom will partially clog, cause water to drain slowly and water will puddle. If the tub shroom isn't swapped out before the next person showers, the next person will be showering in a puddle of water. To mitigate this, buy as many tub shrooms as there are people showering consecutively. After someone showers, pull out the used tub shroom, wrap it in tissue, put it aside to dry and put in a new tub shroom. The following day when the used tub shrooms are dry, remove the hair from them (which is easy to do when dry, but difficult and yucky when wet), clean them so they're like new again and have them ready for the next swap. There's some labor involved, but it's easy and worthwhile to avoid the headache of a clogged drain or spending $200 to hire a plumber to unclog it.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:This is the real deal. I try not to let my long hair slip into the drain, but it’s inevitable. In a single shower, this thing caught a TON of hair. I’m so impressed. It doesn’t look ugly either. It was extremely easy to install. I think it’s a great investment, as the material seems durable enough to last me for years.

I bought two of these because of the price. I do not use the plug stopper, because I don’t take baths but it looks like it would work well. Now the shroom itself. This is an AMAZING product. This catches everything, every hair, lint, it is absolutely amazing. I only hope that I can get replacement rubber pats for it when the one that fits my tub wears out. If you need to trap hair, keep it out of your septic, buy this product. When you clean it, it is a gross job, but it isn't going into your pipes or septic! It is worth its weight in gold. We had to dig up a leach field because of hair and yuck, so I like to think this helps deter that happening again.

Tre donne a casa con i capelli lunghi, io capelli rasati, mi trovavo sempre la doccia con lo scarico tappato e i pieni a mollo ! Ho preso prima quello in gomma bianca, ma col tempo la parte inferiore si è riempita di muffa e deformata, pur continuando a funzionare benissimo. Da qui il passaggio alla versione in acciaio è stata un atto dovuto. Ha 3 anelli adattatori diversi per consentire la corretta installazione dal lavandino alla vasca da bagno, passando per la doccia. È caro, ma li vale fino all'ultimo centesimo. Fantastico anche il tappo a gradini in omaggio che si adatta perfettamente ad ogni scarico del bagno dei tipi elencati sopra (vasca, doccia, lavandino)

Jag har den i en duschkabin och den fungerar perfekt. Tidigare fick jag flytta på duschkabinen för att komma åt och rengöra vattenlåset under kabinen. Nu behöver jag bara ta upp Tub Shroomen för rengöring vilket händer ganska ofta eftersom jag bor tillsammans med 2 kvinnor med långt hår (fru och dotter). Betydligt lättare och enklare än att flytta duschkabinen.

Prix un peu élevé mais vaut franchement le coup !!! Depuis que je l’ai je n’ai plus eu de problème avec le débit d’écoulement de la douche qui n’avait aucun filtre et se bloquait pour un rien. Là ça se voit tous les cheveux et résidus de savon s’accroche au filtre et il n’y a plus qu’à enlever à la main une douche sur deux, selon la longueur de vos cheveux bien sûr ! Je recommande à 100%, 20€ bien investis qui j’espère me tiendront longtemps !
