I love this toothpaste!! Great for a sparking smile, good subtle flavor , consistency is perfect, provides great cleaning and I've tried others over the years but Tom's Charcoal is the most effective for me! It's not harsh on your mouth but again, very effective

Great smiles can come in a tube! Loving this toothpaste for years now. Not thick or chalky, just the right silky smooth consistency to get every last drop out of the tube. Trust me, I do! No saccharine sweetness, no harsh abrasives that you can feel in many other whitening toothpastes and teeth polishers. It’s the coolest trick, using black stuff to whiten. My beautiful smile PLUS all that Tom’s of Maine brand quality and consciousness makes the little extra $ well worth it. Just try it, what’s the worst that can happen? You find yourself smiling more?

I buy Tom's toothpaste because it seems to work just as well as any other toothpaste I've tried, and I like that they are environmentally conscious and contribute to things like recycling of oral care products and deodorant. I purchased this version of their toothpaste mostly because it was new, and I thought I'd try it out. The peppermint flavor is very weak, and it has some other background flavor I can't quite place. After using it for awhile, I don't notice the flavor anymore. As for the whitening properties, I haven't noticed a difference. I've never noticed any toothpaste change the color of my teeth though, so either they do nothing or they all work the same, and there's nothing left to change. It's a decent toothpaste, but I'll probably go back to one of the other versions with a nicer flavor.

I used this at my moms house for two days and even that little amount my teeth looked a little whiter so I had to buy it. My three year old liked the fact that her teeth turned black. The black doesn’t stay though it rinses off very easily. I do one swish of water after brushing and it’s gone. The taste isn’t as minty/fresh as I would like and have had from other toothpastes but considering it whitens so well I can handle that. I just use my mouth wash after for a little more freshness. I have used it without mouthwash at the end and it’s still fresh just a more mild.

I switched from Colgate to Toms of Maine toothpaste 5 years ago and I am happy with Toms's. Since I started using activated charcoal one, my gums stopped bleeding. And my breathing got improved!

The paste is fine on your teeth. I never experienced sensitivity. But from what I can tell, I didn't see any results to be honest and if there was, you can't really tell. With a lot of these type of products, I think it best you just get your teeth professionally cleaned. I gave it a 3-star rating because at least it didn't damage my gums and enamel.

I have tried multiple "name brand" tooth pastes like crest and colgate for their charcoal and havent noticed much of a difference. While results may vary, I noticed a significant change in the whitening of my smile as well as the flavor and the price was outstanding. My only regret, not finding out about this toothpaste sooner.
