Used this same product on my 2022 Colorado truck. So far it seems really good, and after making an extended length wand - about 22 inches in length using another companies spray nozzle and taping it to a thick copper wire using blue painters tape - it worked really well. You must use Gum out Carb cleaner at the end of the day to clear this out of the nozzle and spray head so that it will not set up in the wand before you use it next. I used a 1/8 " drill bit in another manufacturer's spray nozzle that is used right at the can top of the CRC can(was from a FluidFilm can), and epoxied the brass end into the drilled nozzle using JB Weld epoxy. Works great and you don't even need an expensive spray gun . Word of advice - make two of these so you always have another one to go in case of any miss-haps. I'm still using my original nozzle/s and wand I fabricated - but had to re-epoxy the nozzle back in the original spray head after 1 and 1/2 mid sized trucks. It still works great. I use this product where I don't expect many rock chips, and the FluidFilm where I might see some road debris or rock chipping. Good product - I recommend it !

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for undercoating vehicle

    O. · March 19, 2023

Bought a brand new Jeep Wrangler in 2020 which I intended to be used primarily for beach trips, fishing, offroading on sand, etc. The beach where I am at is all saltwater, so I definitely wanted an undercoating that would allow me to see if rust was developing as I read those rubberized type of coatings can hide corrosion developing from within.Once my lift was installed on the Jeep a few months later, I prepped the frame and parts by spraying with purple power and pressure washing underneath to have all parts clean, the Jeep was brand new so this did not take much effort.I had bought the four pack of CRC and crawled underneath and applied one coat (two cans) to the entire frame and inside, axles, bolts, suspension parts, etc. Only thing I didn't hit was the exhaust. Instructions said to apply one coat and let it cure for 10-12 hours. After the first coat I parked it in inside my garage and let it cure. Then applied a second coat the following day (two cans) and also let that cure for 10-12 hours. I did not drive it at all during the cure time. I did all this three years ago.Three years of constant road trips, beach trips, fishing trips, beach overnight camping trips all with exposure to saltwater spray and humidity. With the only upkeep I did was rinse the frame and under carriage with a pressure washer the following day depending on exposure to saltwater (driving in saltwater). Guess what NO RUST. I developed only small patina on the pinch welds of the frame which is common as the welding used is a different steel makeup.Other than that I have no rust on my vehicle. Also frequent pressure washing does not get this stuff off, you need to buy a special solvent that CRC sells to remove, this is a good thing as pressure washing helps to get rid of sand and unlike other products that stay tacky, they will either wash off every pressure wash or sand and dirt will cling to it, this product dries to a hard layer of wax where sand and water just slough off. After three years I could still feel that there was a light layer of the product still protecting the metal, it feels like thin wax and is invisible once it fully cures.I emailed CRC asking how long I could expect this product to last as an undercoating, they advised me two years. So I just recently bought another four pack and reapplied as of yesterday. Buy with confidence this stuff truly works as advertised. I wish I could buy it in a bigger container and some type of better spray nozzle for easier application but CRC does not offer this. Also know that when you first coat your Jeep it dries to a brownish amber color which hilariously looks like rust. It will smell and appear unsightly for the first week but once it fully cures the amber coating goes away and so does the smell.Very happy that this product is protecting my investment in an area that reduces vehicle lifespans to ten years.

Some of the best rust inhibitor you can use! I use it primarily on the undersides of my vehicles, but also use it to protect other items needing corrosion protection.

After researching several simliar products this was top of the list. The conditions this product and the pthers were put through included, but not limited to: Winter weather, salted roads, rocky roads and a number of others. This ranked well in each real world test ,therefore the purchase decision was a not difficult. Note: If you have a car lift then the application process will be much easier. I utilized floor jacks and four jackstands to get the vehicle up as high as it could without compromising safety. Used a large led light fixture underneath to have proper visual. The first step is to wipe down components with a rag to remove dirt and other debris. After this, the spraying process can begin. Using a creeper to move around on under the vehicle is strongly recommended. NOTE: strongly recommend wearing a facemask or repirator of some sort due to the heavy film that floats in the air as you spray. Will be incredibly harmful to a persons lungs! Next, work your way under the vehicle and spray sections at a time (getting top and bottom,as well as the sides of parts). Use caution when spraying around wheel wells (make sure to not get this on the brake rotors!). It leaves a film that will absolutely compromise the breaking ability of your vehicle, very dangerous). Taping areas off may provide some preventative measure to ensure this does not happen. Thoroughly coat areas that may be exposed to corrosive road salt and if you need more video support before doing this, it is recommended to search this process on youtube. Good luck and try it out! Working great as expected!

4.0 out of 5 stars The material is highly effective and stays on, the cans are not the best application method.

This stuff stays on better than fluid film and is a great corrosion protector. I wish that it came in buckets so it can be applied with a paint sprayer but I have seen only cans. In cold weather the cans tend to clog up. Need to add a straw receiver on the spray head to get inside cavities.

I've tried other kinds of rust preventer. The rubber style spray on stuff traps moisture between it and the metal making it rust faster. The oil type stuff just picks up a ton of dust and dirt. This stuff goes on wet but in a few hours hardens up to a soft, dry, amber colored, transparent wax that stays flexible. It doesn't collect dust and dirt and doesn't wash off. I haven't had it for long so I don't know how it will last, but after a couple of months it's still looking like it did when I applied it. I assume you would need to re-apply every couple years, maybe more frequent, depending on your application.

Great quality product. Less than perfect can.

    N. · November 2, 2024

Short version:1. It's amazing rust protection on cars.2. It applies evenly and well, does not drip, does not make a mess. Cures into a light amber colour. Waxy finish that does not wash away easily.3. The spray can itself is an odd design. The nozzle is a male fitting whereas literally every other spray can I have uses a female fitting. You cannot attach a straw or anything to the end of the nozzle, which makes reaching certain areas under the car a lot more challenging. The longer version:I bought this stuff after spending hours looking up reviews on the best quality product for undercoating a vehicle. I live in Ottawa, Ontario, and our roads are HEAVILY salted in the winter. Cars that don't get undercoated properly inevitably develop significant rust after a few years. We recently bought a new hybrid vehicle and several shops as well as the dealership recommended against the typical method of drilling holes in certain areas of the body and spraying petroleum based undercoating (e.g. Krown) as it may interfere with the high voltage wiring and cause issues.I was tied between using this CRC Marine product, or Fluid Film. This stuff appears to hold up better to being sprayed by water (a video of someone trying to pressure wash it off showed it had no effect). Whereas Fluid Film does a great job of protecting the metal, it does wash away much easier and needs more frequent applications. I'm all about saving time, so I opted for CRC Marine. It's also used specifically to protect electrical terminals on boats from corrosion caused by saltwater. If it works safely for that, surely it's fine to use on my hybrid. The product applies easily and adheres to the metal surfaces very well. It does not drip at all as long as you don't excessively over-spray in one area. Do several light-medium coats. The product cures pretty fast so you don't have to wait more than a few minutes between coats. The nozzle design is less than ideal for applying the product in confined/hard to reach places. The nozzle has a male end to it and cannot accept a plastic straw or any kind of extension. It also cannot be swapped out with most other spray can nozzles because the fitting is opposite to most other cans (male vs female). If they changed this design, it would make life a lot easier to apply the product. It remains to be seen whether this stuff will degrade any of the plastics/rubber under the car. The company's own website states that, while they have not seen CRC Marine cause any noticeable plastic/rubber degradation, they do advise to avoid spraying it on those surfaces just in case, as it's meant only to protect metal.Lastly, absolutely wear a respirator and eye protection when applying this stuff. It smells very strong and is not something you want to breathe in or get in your eyes.
