You need to be sure to wash them well to get out as much of the sediment as possible, but these work wonders to help give bacteria a home in your aquarium. I pulled out the trash sponge from one 5 gallon aquarium and replaced it with a little zipper bag of these and dosed the aquarium with bacteria. After dealing with really unstable water for a month these leveled everything off and now we're only changing water twice a month. Stop reading and buy these now. You won't be disappointed.

I use MarinePure in all my Tanks from 90g to 10g nano. these are great for those aio systems combined with a intank media basket for easy system maintenance.

This it a perfect solution for nano tanks, I use 2 packs in my evo 13.5 and will support more then enough bio load for my nano reef. There about the with of a nickle almost like a ball but not round if that makes sense and they seem to hold up well and not fall apart like other brands. Marine pure is definitely the way to go for this type of media

Works great as copepods "hotel" in a Nano. I put them in the bottom of media basket with an old light on the outside of filter compartment in my AIO nano. When the lights are off they move to DT and feeds everyone.

For the price I paid of around $12, I would expect double the amount of media balls and for it to come inside a mesh media bag. Due to the very small quantity, I would only recommend it for a nano tank. I was surprised to not see a media bag included, just a plastic bag for packaging. There was a good amount of dust in the bag and it took several rinses to clean it up, which was expected.Luckily, I had one new media bag handy. After rinse, some loose sandy debris were evident. I do recommend that you keep this inside a mesh bag, in order to contain the bits that breakdown. Although I probably wouldn't recommend this product based on the value, the good news is that the media is very porous and I expect it to work well.

very effective biofilter
Outstanding gems!
When you wash the gems for the first time it shows that there is a little dust on them which is normal. Sinking them in water in 48 hours before use and there was not any more dust, change in color etc. Now they are a part of the filter and believing me or not, just after 48 hours you see the positive results.
LOVE EM perfect size little bio spheres for my culture jars and small tanks
Seem to be very good I could see these doing exactly what they are made for, but are kinda fragile as well but worked great in my very small tanks. I want to try the bigger version as well
